Still have enough Sets to get me to April so I grabbed 30 bags of FSU to cover the other shoulder into May. Will grab some North Country for next season. Have a nice source for Sets, but found them not as hot as in previous years. Time look at some of the other brands and I have yet to do "softies". Will be retired at the end of the summer so will have plenty of time to shop and stock for next year.
Big Heat in the P68 again as I was near TSC and wanted to see what they were beyond burning 2 bags so I picked up 5 bags. Not sure why they are a soft pellet no not as softwood but actually soft as they break easily , but with that said they seem to burn fine and no more ash then the premium brands I believe but will know after I burn all 5 bags . With as warm as it is today and tomorrow it will cool down tomorrow night with average temps next week , lows in the teens and highs around freezing so if need be Ill grab a few more bags to check them out . Ambiance in the P43 and a solid pellet for the $219 a ton I paid for them in the spring, good fuel in general low ash and good heat.
Took a spin over to Rocky Hill yesterday and these ended up in the back of my truck. Thanks artc, much appreciated as always.
are those the super premo's? Oh man your gonna love them... very low ash and blazing heat... got 5 tons in my basement....
tim brought me 2 bags of North country and 2 bags of Vermonts to try. Much appreciated, thanks, Tim. I"m going to stock North Country next season for sure, so i'm happy to try them. Had A rep stop by wednesday and leave off 3 bags of NEWP......... i brought them home to get them out of the shop............ Lacretes in the hopper, even though it warmed up.
I ended up grabbing a few bags of Green Supreme from Lowe's, because I was there and that's all they had, and I think they are worse than ever! They reminded me of the old Infernos. They smell funny, burned cold, and just overall sucked.
As winters go, there hasn't been too many cold snaps this year. As such, I find that I am able to heat my entire upstairs with the woodstove. But that's only because getting up in the morning and starting a fire is not a painful endeavor. I can handle starting and waiting for fires when the house drops in the low 60s. But forget it when it's anywhere near freezing temps outside and the house drops into the 50s. My pellet stove is ideal for anything outside in the 30s or less. Or when I'm just too damm lazy to get up, make a fire, and wait 30 minutes -- or longer. So.... I still got Bear Mountains resting in the hopper. Thinking about giving them a night cap.
Haaa good score Russell ! Realizing since I have been toasting North Country that the Lazoun produce about half the ash "Volume" don't know about the weight as North Country as I have nearly filled my ashpan this week burning North Country. I also get the same amount or very close of heat out of the Northern Max, am kind of surprised but through experience I learn more all the time. LaCrete definitely produce much less volume of ash then North Counrty, not complaining just speaking on my current experience with my stove's and these pellets. Have not tried the Force version or bagged version of Lazoun but apparently the same pellets as Cubex and Norther Max.
Yeah I'm excepting great heat and low ash from the Cubex . Like you mentioned Cubex , Northern Max and Force all the same pellet . So far great smell , almost look like a softwood and silky smooth finish . I'll know more after this night of cold temps .
Time to chnge pellets again. Not sure whats on the top I my stash. I will have a different brand burning by this afternoon.
So it looks like a ton of Timber Heat are back up to bat. Then about a half ton of MWP blend before reaching my lovely Vermont Woods
