Nah, not needed for the bottom feeder. When burning the ash is not an issue at all and in all likelihood a top feeder shouldnt have any issue either as the ash is light-note the air holes are not covered. This pic was a cold stove after a shut down this morning. If I start it up, that ash is pushed out by the new pellets.
I lied, decided to put in the TSC white bag/blue lettering MWP's. MAN, what a difference! The air coming out of the tubes is hot instead of luke-warm and the ash is a lot less. Only got 3 more bags of that unless I go and get few more since I have a 10% coupon off entire order coupon - which I probably will since I need bird seed anyway (and hey, I'm down to just around 11 tons, so I need to keep my stock replenished ). I'll keep it to 4-5 bags though.
Glad to hear those TGs are finally gone and even more that the MWPs are burning nicely for you! That 10% coupon is burning a hole in my pocket too...
Did get 4 more bags of MWP at TSC. Got the bird food too. The same flyer that had the 10% coupon had an additional 5% off coupon for bird seed (on top of the 10% off total order - woohoo!)
Nice.. "A well fed Bird is a Happy Bird .. " Was that up @ Hillsboro TSC ? Gotta a UPC code on a bag by any chance, please?
Yes it was at Hillsboro. 852543003066 (white bags, blue lettering). What? Don't believe that they are MWP's just by my say-so?
No, it's just dumb-azz me would walk in, see a mountain worth of different TSC-bagged pellets, and promptly purchase the wrong one. But not now ! Thanks B !
Just filled her up along with my bin , already for a cozy night and some football . The stove is showing 440 off the center glass and 320 out the vents on med . EasyBlaze
I just offed my last bag of ThermGlo in my loft. I think I grabbed 20 bags last March, mostly for the loft, which is used mostly on weekends in the winter. "Luke-warm air" indeed, but I am just heating 300 sq ft with a Castille.
Had 2 damprid boxes in my P61A all summer... same as you.. about inch of water each in the boxes.. good to have a water source there in case of fire...
If your gaskets are good, the door is latched (and stays closed all summer), your vent and intake are plugged then you have a sealed system. If you have a sealed system the moisture was in there and drawn to the tub below the silica (or whatever that stuff is). Better there than on your metal areas. I have had water in the tub and zero rust. I have not used the Damp Rid and have had some rust. Do as you wish next spring, but do something. Dont leave it with nothing. Coating with oil, Pam or whatever will have similar protection from the moisture that does get in. Helz, some just leave the stove dirty and the ash tends to protect it. Different stokes...............whatever works.
