What's a good reliable hour meter for my new woodsplitter?

    Came today in the mailbox.
It's supposed to get up above 50 degrees on Saturday so I intend to install it and start the new splitter up for the first time. Had it for over three months now and it's been too cold to start. I tried it one time it got kind of warmish but the fluid was way too thick.
It's actually smaller than I thought it would be.

I split a lot when it's really cold out. You just need to get the hydraulic fluid warm up a bit.

I have the ISO AW68 in the new splitter because that's what the sticker on it says to use for the temps I'll be using in. I do my splitting in Sept. and the last couple of years some of those days were well into the eighties.
On my 22 ton I have AW32. I didn't know at the time that that thickness was meant to be used below 60 degrees.
I have a magnetic block heater that I'll put on the hydraulic tank and I'll move it around so the tank is in the sun for a few hours before trying it. I'm really hoping I can hear it run to see how loud it is and to cycle it a few times.

I have that one and it seems to be working ok so far. 20 hrs and counting
If you want to use your splitter in cold weather that magnetic block heater should do well.
I use a heater pad on mine and
in the upper 20's 30 degree weather, using aw32 fluid it has worked well.

I have that hourmeter on my generator. It is 2 years old and the battery has never been replaced.

Installed it today and after it warmed up in the afternoon I started it for the first time. I had to reset the plug firing button after it was obviously showing too high a reading on the rpm side. I let it run at moderate throttle for a few minutes and cycled the ram a few times.

I even made a split smaller just to see it split. After I shut it off it took a gallon more of hydraulic fluid to bring it up to the max. level on the dipstick.
