Ok, I need to correct myself. DuckDuckGo also makes a browser, apparently. I am a klutz within a Mac. Hopefully someone else will happen by. I am Linux and Windows except for my handhelds.
honestly I don't know computer lingo, I just recall researching, all the different "search boxes" options all bounce off google except one (from somewhere I cannot pronounce and I'm not computer literate), but I can find articles on DDG that I cannot on the household laptops with different search boxes.
With Safari and Chrome I just have duckduckgo as a bookmark to search from. The Mac desktop used to be 'it-just-works' simple and intuitive with one basic set of rules. Not any more. Too many exceptions to rules, too much hidden stuff that is now hard to find.Remembering to hold down modifier keys to have a full menu that used to be the normal menu is counter intuitive to me.
Yes, if it's daytime, and that's where I got the browser message. I just am paranoid about being just to dumb tech wise to tell if an unexpected notice or message is real or some BS scam.
I think Flamestead said that (basically) the computer on the other end is mad at mine because it's not as cool as it is. If that's pretty much it, I'm good and don't want to re learn what little bit I have and pizzing off some other computer kinda gives me comfort.
Why don't you have someone more familiar with your device (mac or phone, not sure which one you are using) and advise. From what I am hearing from you, it could be as simple as an update needed, or it could potentially be a pop-up offering you a free virus if you click it.
Smokey, what language is that? Beautiful day today wasn't it. I was in your town just a few days ago.
