I had the same issue where the sun beating down caused the cooker temp to climb pretty quick so anymore I make sure I position it where it will be shady the whole time and it has helped quite a bit. I decided to not bump up the temps today and the butt is just now at 180 so it should be off in about an hour. I already have the jalapeno poppers ready to go on!

I have that same cooker, I love it! I don't have the fancy PartyQ but I like it!
I can cook all day long on 1 canister of lump charcoal and a chunk or 2 of Oak. I threw 2 whole pork loins on this morning!

Awesome mine is going on 3 years old (I think) and for the price you pay they are really hard to beat. I can easily maintain 225-250 for the duration of a cook. This style of cooker probably pays for itself in charcoal saving in less than a year for me lol. That pork loin looks great! What did you rub it down with?

Mine was the ultimate deal! Free, it was a gift from a friend.

Lowrys and mustard...sounds good, should try that sometime.

I use a blend of dry rub from a local butcher shop. I have tried others on pork as well as some of my own, but their is by far the best ive tried.

Some how I just knew you'd be hangin here!.

To raw to cook outside today. So its a pork roast in the oven. Plus it helps heat the joint.

Sad part of today was we put our new toy away. Winterized and covered til next season. Gonna be a long 7 months til she seez water again! :(

Thats the beauty of these komados. Dont matter if its cold and raw out, they dont care. Get the damper and daisey wheel set for temp and it does the rest. Only thing I need is a small cover or large umbrella set up for when its really raining.

Saw the section labeled Smokehouse and BAM I was there :D

Yeah, motorcycle is put away as well

Maybe once the new toy is paid for? Til then the weber is all I can swing! Love to have one that controlled temps though.

Yeah, I keep looking at those controllers, but too cheap to hit the button to buy one. Actually I havnt been able to justify one yet.

I bought the egg one winter right after my tax check came. For once I was going to put a piece of that check towards something I wanted, not something I needed. Best thing I have done in years as it has paid for itself in quality cooks.

Creamy coleslaw, they call it a Carolina style pulled pork sandwich. It sounds weird but it is tasty

Gotta have the slaw on PP sammies! Nice job Cert, it all looks amazing. I worked on getting a doug fir down off my hillside today and got a late start on the lamb ribs. They came out great though, probably mostly because I was starving after working on the hill today.
