Fried up the catfish I just caught and made fresh cut fries, it was great! This was only about 1/3 of it and it fed 6 adults and 3 kids.
Cooked up some Ichiban Eggplant tonight. First of the season. Really a great type of eggplant. I definitely prefer the Japanese style eggplants and will be growing this again.
Sitting here waiting for the butcher shop to open to pick up my whole hog. Had some brats made and will toss a few on the washing machine pit tonight.
Looks awesome OS! I can see that on a plate with a side of hashbrowns and gravy! On an unrelated sidenote. I just got back from the grocer where I picked up some stuff to make burritos for the next few days. Got everything on my list and when I got home I looked at the reciept...only to see that the 2 lbs. of burger I picked up cost me 4.79 a lb.!!!!! WTH? Are you guys seeing jacked up beef prices right now or is it a local anomaly? Screw that. Thank God bow season is just around the corner cause I won't be buying anymore beef anytime soon (and these burritos better be pretty damm good).
We were given two Sockeye salmon this weekend so we immediately baked one. I had company but I still took a picture of it cooking. Surprisingly they didn't think I was too weird. I know, I know - it is a electric oven but that is all I have. The four of us finished off half of this and we had leftovers for lunch today.
My first. It is so easy. I even bought the graham cracker crust. http://www.landolakes.com/recipe/2096/choco-peanut-butter-ice-cream-pie Though I was tired when I made it. I think I used 4 cups of vanilla ice cream. Not sure. Lol. It still was crazy good.
how did you get the kids to eat those? Kids so often stick up their nose if it isn't ready to eat. We did the same with our kids, only it was lobsters and clams. Started out real early or they would have never touched it.
Maybe it was the vacation "atmosphere". My son (the younger one) didnt eat much without dads help....but he loves crab
There are kokenee salmon in the lake we moved to. Cant wait til our remodel is finished so we can do the same! Dear husband is a great fisherman and an even better cook! BTW, we went with electric for all our new appliances too
I made the choco-peanut butter ice cream pie a couple of days ago, it lasted a little more than a day...now this...looks great, what's the fish?
