Dang, this is awesome! I've learned a bunch of tips and tricks that will serve me in good stead for the next time I make lasagna, that's for sure. Thanks folks!

As I mentioned earlier, I'm pretty well set for dinner for the next few nights, but I'm already thinking of the next big thing........any of you folks ever made homemade corn dogs? I haven't yet but for some reason it's been on my mind lately. Maybe cause I bought a jar of spicy homemade mustard from the farmers market lady a while back and corn dogs and good mustard go together like peanut butter and chocolate.

Here is the end result, 8 hour bourbon marinated with a smoky paprika rub t-bone with fresh picked green beans. Grilled them at 400 degrees for 6 minutes per side over oak lump with some mesquite chunks.

Nice looking steaks-- we are back from camping so I'm taking it easy and sitting on my butt tonight. I did take 15 mins to assembled a lasagna and stuck that in the oven a while back. Lazy night.

    Pasta salad
Orzo with smoked salmon, red onion, artichoke hearts, cream cheese, capers, dill and pepper

And while I am at it some smoked salmon and chived cream cheese stuffed mushrooms, a little dry mustard in these give a nice flavor, these are not cooked yet, just getting them ready to go in the oven later.

After a very nice & cool early part of last week, temps started rising on Friday. Mid 80's since then,92 tomorrow, may see 95 on Tuesday.Way too hot to be fixing that in the house. Then back to lo 80's with more comfortable humidity levels after that.

So maybe next weekend for another one.

That was an old Simpson's episode. Marge was asking Homer what he wanted for dinner as he stared at the TV screen. He responded and said "Steak", without taking his eyes off the screen. Marge told him "We really can't afford that Homey." To which he replied, "Steak". Classic Homer.

The in-laws and the outlaws will be in town this weekend. We are planning a cookout on Saturday and I am in charge of the smoker.

I figured I would smoke the meat today and let the pulled pork sit in its juices over night. Plus the smoker will be free on Saturday for grilled veggies.

This pic is of the two pork shoulders 3 hours in. I just transferred them to the pans and put a little apple juice in with the pork. They will be on the smoker for another 8 hours or so.

Fresh blueberries, as in they were still on the bush this morning.
Pamela's gluten free baking mix, my wife is celiac, and this mix makes the best pancakes I have ever had...and I've had a lot:D
Butter is fresh from a local small family farm.
Maple syrup is mine, I just reuse the bottle.
That bacon is from an heirloom pig, raised by my friend...he lived a happy life.
    Local coffee roaster.
