What was the first tractor you drove?

    I moved from the city to the country in 1979 and bought a 1939 9n Ford, still own it. I started it Saturday and may use it today to bushhog a small area where I burned brush piles yesterday. It's about used up so I "upgraded" to a 1958 Ford 600 this year.

    I grew up in city.. gramps had a farm when I was young but still used horses because of grades and swamps .. so first tractor was a 2005 Kubota mine... did drive a 1982 new Holland skid steer for a summer at 17

    VAC Case with back blade. Drug manure piles out of the horse corrals with it. Sure beat a garden rake, shovel and wheel barrow. Wide front end and dad put studded snow tires on the front as the original tires were shot.

    We had some old hoes and a crane with the old 2 stroke Detroit diesels.

    My neighbor has one of those little satch tractors think it says shibura on the side? Handy little thing he runs the heck out of it!

    I think we had our about thirty years. Probably had less than 400 hours on it when we sold it.
    Great machine. It didn't get used enough, but still ran ok. Parts were getting hard to find!

    I think it had a big chrome General Motors plaque on the top/intake

    That was the first big tractor I ever drove. Still remember how it sounded all spooled up bumping through the gears pulling a train of hay wagons back to the barn. Good times.
