Buy yourself an entry level sawmill and have some fun? Build yourself and outbuilding...like a sauna?
Cut them trees down and hoard the firewood! I would love to have an acre of pine right outside my front door.
If that is a buffer in a town lot I would start by just clearing what is near your house and see how you feel as the cover starts to be "missing". My guess is you will decide to keep some of it standing.
Looking at the picts the tree density is pretty high. More conservative approach mite be to thin it out some, open up some sunlite so the others can grow. Im not familar with jackpine, is it lodgepole? Would someone buy the lumber if you had it milled?
can you rent a sawmill or have some one mill it ? do you own truck... can you beg borrow a trailer? cut it down... mill it build what ya want ... city folk round here pay for weathered rough cut.. must be accent walls or something on HGTV or pinterest
I don't understand, you are a member of a forum all about firewood and you have many years worth of fuel on your door step..... Some good advice from other folks, if I were lucky enough to have your problem I'd clear some it around your property and definitely either leave or just thin out the rest. Trees take a long time to grow and it'd suck if you clear fell and then regretted it!!! As for the wood, how about a rustic log cabin and a toasty house for the next few years
I know this may sound crazy...But I would C/S/S all of them! No questions asked. Great for Shoulder season and Stretch fires during the day or weekends. as well as Kindling. I know its a mountain of work...But I would do it...
There are plenty of trees in wisconsin! Got a lot of access to good hardwoods. I cut 5 years of wood in 6 months three years ago and do not need these. I will keep some for kindling the rest I want out so the smaller bitternut hickorys , oaks, and Cherry trees can get bigger.
Pretty sure I need to be certified to sell campfire wood here because of the ash borers. I no I can't take wood from or across county lines.
All I know about the subject is from t.v., but it looks like you have a lot of long, straight poles there. Would a cabin builder buy the lot of them from you?
One acre probably isn't enough for anyone with heavy equipment to come set up for. Those sure are some nice looking straight poles though.
Got one guy I told he could have them wants to build a cabin but the deal is he has to clean up the mess. that s the answer I got from most the pulp buyers.
