What Stihl saw to put a 25" bar on?

About .7 lbs. I kid.

I've had both and the 362C is a better saw. More low end grunt.

20" in hardwood is about all it can comfortably handle though. Won't pull a 25" bar in hardwood with any kind of authority.

 

I think once you get a smaller saw with a 25" bar it won't take long for you to want a saw with more power. I'd look for a saw in the 70cc range. You already have a 40cc saw, a 70cc saw would be a good 2nd saw for you.

So, where do I get a 25" bar and 25" chain for it? Which one do I buy? Anyone on here sell them? I'd prefer to support a FHC member instead of a random dealer....

 

If you can't find a member that sells bars and chains I would get a Stihl bar and chain. I like Stihl bars and chains. The chains stay sharper longer than other chains. The higher price is worth it.

 

Oh, definitely!! My Echo has a Stihl chain on it, LOVE that chain, blows the old chain away, like night and day.

 

Since this saw is probably going to be your main saw why don't you get a 20'' stihl bar and chain for it. Then you can get a cheaper 25'' bar and stihl chain for the occasional stuff.

 

Machria. First congratulations on your new saw! Second, I have a small business up here in NY state where I try out, review, and then rate chainsaws. Then train the owner in safely operating the saw. It only takes me about three months for a full review and rating. And you won't be cutting all your trees down that way. I am willing to forgo any and all fees for fellow FHC members. This has several advantages for you the owner. You won't have to go through all the pesky reading of the safety warnings and manual stuff. And you will have a saw that is all broke in and had its first maintenance all completed. Training will not take long. Let me know when your ready to ship it to me and I will get started. I'll even complete your training here on my property. I have more than a few trees that need to come down.

 

What saw. I don't see no stinking picture of no stinking saw. Or no stinking link to no stinking saw that was stinking purchased.

 

Comes with a brand new 20" bar and chain, both Stihl. The saw looks very clean, I bet it only has few hours on it, see pics? So I just want a 25"er to throw on those few times it will come in handy.

Thanks, will be fun to try out. I'll certainly compare the echo to the Stihl, but only from an amateur view, I'm no expert on saws. This will be my 3rd saw in 30 years. I had a McCulloch for 25 years, then replaced it with the Echo 4 or 5 years ago, and now adding the Stihl.
