Nice looking work, Dave. Keep at it. There were times I wondered if I would ever get mine finished.

Yea Tie, It's going slow but steady. I actually started it back in september:whistle: but I had to pull and store my boat for the winter so I blew what $$ I had aside:eek:. I'm hoping to have it done "completely" by March. I'm not in any big hurry, but I do have about 3 cord of rounds that need splitting.

Thanks Pete, But it's no different than what someone else may do…. I could never make a cake like someone who has been doing it for many years or anything as such…. Everyone has some sort of gift:), that just happens to be one of mine. I admire people who can shoot a bow, I've tried on several occasions! I couldn't hit a bus if it was 10 feet in front of me, I just can't get it:eek:….. Although I am good with a hand gun, go figure:confused:. This is my job and what I started at 15 years old, Just got a little practice:)

My talent is being annoying according to my mother in law about 10 minutes ago.............. I said go home lady  :lol:All in good humor by the way. ;)

Actually I have the fortune of being able to learn very fast at most things but as much as I love welding it's been a challenge to get back into. I didn't weld for almost 5 years and then got back into it and discovered it isn't like riding a bus at all! The last couple of years I've been getting much much better however. The funny thing is 10 years ago I could weld blindfolded ( so to speak ) maybe it's getting older.

Built by a guy back about 1982. It was between paint jobs, and looking kinda' ruff. That poor old Honda engine got replaced this year also.

I treated myself to the DR Rapidfire just before Sandy hit, payed for itself quickly. Splits fast but you have to stay alert as it cycles through in a few seconds. Rapid Fire 3.jpg

I have this splitter as well. Do you happen to have the serial number of the engine ? Cant read the numbers on mine and trying to find the correct carb for it as it only runs smooth if choke is on. Thanks for any input you may have.

    Welcome to FHC ReelCrazy!

Is it a Honda engine with the pull-start assembly directly on top of the engine?

Those carburetors can be cleaned out using aerosol carb cleaner or you can go the replacement route. If I remember correctly, the carb is the same on ALL Honda GCV160 engines (like your Troy-Bilt most likely has) and that is Honda part # 16100-Z0L-853. Just google searching "Honda GCV160 Carburetor" will turn up all kinds of results. ;)
