I got a bad batch of gas awhile back & had to run an engine it on half choke for a while. It flushed it's self clean. Runs great without having to use the choke, no effort from me.

Thanks for the quick response. I took the carb off and pulled the main jet. cleaned it all up and still have the same issue. I found a few different carbs listed for Honda GCV160 I will try the 1600-zol 853. Thanks again

Surprised I haven't seen a Timberwolf yet... here is mine, TW-P1 the 4-way slip on wedge not shown. Got it used after about 2 years which saved me close to a grand on the original price. I've owned it for another 3 or 4 since, no problems but a slow leak in the valve which I hear is common.

It's still a working, "work in progress"..
I just been changing things here and there as I decide I hate them...
I need a hydraulic jack stand like Oliver's...
    That's the next "Mod"...

Timberwolf puts a lot of thought and real world testing into theirs...
Expensive, but very well thought out..

The tongue weight on that thing is just stupid heavy...
I even added a battery to the operator's side... Cause it just wasn't heavy enough already...
Tows good though... And makes the truck ride better...
It just wrecks the wheels I put on the jack...

Hedge, how long did it take you to build, start to finish, excluding time to scrounge $$$ like I'm doing:rolleyes:… Also, how many ponies you got running that thing:eek::cool:… It's a sweetie…I love home made engineering:cool::thumbs:

An AS member named Iowa did the original build out of some scraps he had laying around. He was gonna sell it, so I told him I'd buy it, but I wanted a bunch of stuff changed and started buying all the components needed to make it like I thought I would want it.
About 3 months and with his machine shop help and about another 1500 bucks I had what I thought was the ideal splitter...
Well? that changed again as I started using it...
Then I cut the axle out and moved it up.. Dropped the work tables a couple inches for the 4 and 6 way wedge bottom pieces to evacuate.. Put a 13 HP electric start motor on it, cause pull starting a 13hp was killing me and the recoil both.
Total time to build? 2 seasons?? But if we knew what the heck we were doing, a couple weekends probably..
Total cost? $3000.00 plus "The bigger pumps and components are freaking expensive"

    Lessons learned:
If in good wood, 4 ways are VERY productive...:axe:
    6 ways just make a mess...
22 gpm pumps are awesome!!! But are restricted by 1/2" hoses.. And require large reservoirs... :(
Work tables are just handy as a shirt pocket...
Tall Main wedge is a great thing... You can find all sorts of creative ways to use it..

Sweet!!!! I love learning and hearing this stuff. I know you must do some much bigger stuff than I do. I don't think mine will ever leave my yard after it's done, But I'm "SURE" I'm gonna change stuff after the final product is built!
    Thanks for sharing:cool:

My opinion as a teacher, engineer and a back yard guy, Seeing all this is just so coool….. Great stuff! I spent years as and with mechanical engineers and professors and it really doesn't get any better than what happens in the homes of American back yard engenuity:cool:. This Rocks!
