I always thought GM should bring the El Camino back in a cool updated version with option of 4wd, regular and extended cab, and of course the SS!

So you like the el Camino, but not the avalanche?

I'm not a Chevy guy at all, but the avalanche was a great idea. They are not the best for either of their 2 purposes, but will do it all.

BTW, it's not like I won't buy a car with a timing belt, but if I have the choice, I'll go timing chain every time. If it's a timing belt vehicle, it can't be tough or expensive to change. The belt on our v8 4runner is an easy swap, and cheap insurance to put a new water pump on at the same time since you have to pull it to change the timing belt. Plenty of room in the 4runner to work on that and no front bumper removal like some Audi's.

I'm thinking an El Camino you could actually do some work with, and that looked cool. An updated version of this maybe? And 4wd or AWD option.

Lift kit and tires are too big, but a 4wd or AWD work horse would be cool. Nice wood hauler! LOFL

Umm yeah. That was one of GM's big mess ups that led to them going bankrupt. It was a concept car that had to have been all in, or not done at all. All in as in as the show car was. It looks the same, but on a heavy trailblazer full body on frame gm parts bin construction for something that didn't need it, and had a weak v8 when the show car had a bigger more powerful motor. So, heavier than expected, and less powerful, and expensive. All that equaled poor sales. I've only seen like 4 ever on the road.

  Says the owner of one of the most streamlined body-style trucks made!:p

I kinda like how GM resisted the Tonka-truck trend in styling, even with the HDs.

Nobody builds a perfect truck. It's all in what rings your bell.

Really, where the heck do they get em all from? The only place I ever see them is in Southern Cal. ??

Oh, the Audi's for service is NUTZ!! I had an A6 4.2, really nice car, but that motor was so shoe-horned into there that you had to remove the entire front end to change the oil on it! First time I brought it in for an oil change, I came back early and the car was in pieces and I screamed "What the hell are you guys doing.....!!!" And they got a good chuckle.... that was crazy!

That think is really friggin cool! I always wanted one of those things!

Yea, that's the problem, nothing rings my bell now!

Yep thats true only difference is color.

Running on the road will get you a big fine. Sure they probably won't did an eco boost f150 but its still wrong.

He tried 2 different dealers and was actually on the phone at one point with ford. They told him they bent over backwards for him. He told them all you did was replace tires when it had a few thousand miles on it and balance my tires a dozen times. I think he said the dealer had his truck 17 times in a little over a year. He traded it at same dealer family on a toyota. He told them it was an eco boost 150 and it had a "vibration" they said thats the eco boost right...Yea they have a problem with them. The second dealer wanted to replace axle and trans but ford never ok'd the fix.

We have the 4.7l the first ten one before it got variable valve tuneing in like 06. Not till the new body in like 08 was the 5.7 even offer end in the sequoia.

Oil changes are easy on the allroad with the 4.2. The cartridge type oil filter is on the top, and the drain is easy, once you drop the undertray, which is a 5 minute job. Spark plugs and air filter are easy to change. The only thing that should be easier to change is the accessory belt. Now if you need a new alternator, PS pump, stuff like that, good luck.

Car dealers probably get a kick out of me looking how easy or difficult it is that change oil on any new car I'm looking at.

Speaking of which, tomorrow I'm headed to the Milwaukee auto show. I won't bring my creeper, but I'll be wearing jeans to check oil filter and oil plug locations.

Eh, auto show trip was to be today. Going Friday instead. Snow tonight and I don't want to deal with snow and downtown traffic combo.

Ahhhh, I see what I was saying. It corrected dip to did and I had an eco boost on my mind. Yea good luck getting an eco boost to run on diesel!!! I was thinking more along the lines of the half ton ram or a diesel car.

If I still had my old mercedes 300D I probably would never get my tank dipped but the risk would not be worth it.

A towing company in Virginia made some money off my outfit yesterday. I drive a new 2014 truck with 70k on it.. All the engine lights came on and it shut down..lol.. Sat on a ramp for 3 hours while they towed me another truck..lol..

Judging from the fault codes, something in the emissions system wasn't working right so the truck wouldn't regen.. Gotta love the emissions stuff:headbang:
