What made you decide to buy property?

After my wife and I had been married several years an opportunity came up that forced us to sell and move. We rented for the first time because we knew nothing about the area and wanted to learn a bit before buying. That actually happened a couple times in our married life. We're not sorry we went that route but could not stand the renting bit very long. Just felt like we were throwing money down the drain.

Also for us, we want privacy. For those who were at out get-together last spring, they will understand our privacy. Also like others have stated, it is nice to be able to pee in your yard or even off the front porch and not be bothered by neighbors or traffic. It is also nice to not be bothered by traffic always going by. We also absolutely love being in the woods and having birds and animals make their homes with us. We both really love having deer and like to think the deer like having us.

Funny that today I was working in back, about 1/4 mile from the house but had to come to the house for something (using atv). I no sooner than got back from that trip when my wife told me (via 2-way radio) that a doe and 2 fawns were right outside the house (about 35 feet from the house). They stayed for quite some time. Yesterday morning I went out to the barn and saw a doe standing broadside in the woods just watching me. I had planned on opening the overhead door but it is noisy so just used the walk-in door. She just stood there watching. I looked after getting indoors and she went back to feeding! She was perhaps 20 yards from me when I went into the barn. And very few days will go by when we don't seen fresh deer tracks all around the house. We love it.

And like Yooperdave stated, they aren't making any more property so buy while you can!
