Can be both. Natural without a fan or induced with a fan. Think I’m gonna year the door apart tomorrow & make sure the solenoid is allowing the flapper on the draft to open all the way.
Oh I didn’t see the small stuff just that gigantic piece of firewood. My dad would have called that “night wood”
Yes, & make sure a piece of "something" isn't restricting the damper. Those things are pretty bullet proof, but I've seen chunks of coal get in them. Solenoid will still pull it open, just not far enough. Let us know.
I didn't know the 6048 had a draft fan on it. The first thing I thought of was that the solenoid linkage rod from the solenoid to the draft door was broken, but like I said, I didn't know there was a fan on it. Check the linkage rod anyway......and the operation of the solenoid. Back in the 90's, I had both of them fail at different times. Very easy fix.
That exact thing happened to a OWB burner around here. Plugged the chimney up...never inspected or cleaned it! No, it wasn't the stove's fault in any shape, manner or form.........
Earlier in this post I mentioned that I did inspect chimney/pipe thoroughly & it was clean. However I do believe I may have found the problem this morning. As i mentioned last night I planned on taking the door apart to make sure the solenoid was opening all the way & that there were no physical obstructions preventing air flow. It all checked out fine, however when I took the face cover off the fan motor the screw was quite dirty. Do you think this could be restricting air flow enough to not fuel the fire? I do. As I mentioned earlier any time I opened the door the fire would pick up nicely. I have the fan drafting naturally. If it operates that was sufficiently I may leave the fan of entirely. I will post a picture of what I believe maybe the problem.
Working loads better on natural draft than it was before!! I couldn’t even get up to the set water temperature before now no problem.
