No I don’t believe I’ve even seen that in person. If you could set aside just one piece I can compare it to what I’ve got.

I found a piece of wood in the stack the other day just like that. I thought "why is that painted....wait, who painted it and why?...." I want to say my piece was oak, red I think. I will try to find it and look closer...

I'd say it's just a mold or a fungus like a slime mold.

Here's mine. 3 years bare minimum and 4 is ideal. HL is probably my most processed high BTU wood, due to HL being in everyone's yard around here. I mean I am swimming in ash, but all ash is boring.

    Pun intended.

I have a full cord HL stack CSS Summer 2020 that i have for sale, but no takers. Havn't put a MM to a split, but well weathered.

Yeah id be bored with all the same species. Despite not liking multi year drying woods, ill take more HL anytime.

Do to it what you did to your thumb and it will turn that color again.

I was starting the splitter a couple weeks ago and the compression jerked the pull rope out of my hand and poor little buddy got it on the head! o_O :emb: OUCH!!!

    It's a wood splitter , not a nut splitter.
