What is the advantage(s) of the 562xp over a 25 year old 371xp?

Randy is a truly humble human being. After speaking with him on the phone, he makes you feel like family :)

That's the kind of person you WANT to give your money too. I cold called after an email an eBay chain saw parts guy. I had ordered a part from him but needed more. He had most of what I needed gave a fair price, and talked to me a good while about saws and his business.

I still have not had one of my own saws ported, but I have run saws from two of the three builders mentioned. Mastermind does a fantastic job with anything he touches. I can also personally attest to the fact that TLandrum does nasty things to a 372XP. :cool:I'm sure the 371 is no different.

There are some easy gains to be had by removing the base gasket, a little polishing and a muffler mod. All easy for any diy'er with basic mechanical skills.

I've done a little DIY porting of my 359 -- didn't take much to embarrass a stock 357xp and ms361.

Just my .$02 Dex, the difference between the 545 and 550XP is quite noticeable. If $$ is not the issue, then it's 550XP all the way.

No. I sold 5 saws this week. So to only replace the 5 with 2? Not bad. All the Earthquakes and Blue Max don't count. I have several bars I paid more for.

I wanted the 261c m, but because MM already has one, I figured I should get something different to run. So there is a more eclectic range to run at the GTG.
And who knows, by then, it may be ported :D

    Now I will have
    50cc -J-Red 2253
    60cc - 036 Pro
    70cc - 441C-M
    Mid 70cc ;) - 460

That's it.. No More (keep saying it over and over.... and over. ... :zip:)

    Hi jack over.

Simple muff mod and delete base gasket as Mike suggested, will give you some good gains. Add a set of Caber rings and it will really wake that 371 up :)

    Sure you don't need a 660 or 661?

Yea that's how I gonna justify the quake I get. Too chinsey to cut wood with and besides I just won't eat lunch this week and save the cash to buy.

Now I've seen it all, skipping lunch to feed your CAD addiction. You must be hitting rock bottom --- an earthquake???

Isn't that what all addicts do. Forget about everything else.

Honestly I don't eat lunch most days. A drink and crackers is about it.

Glad you said it. I can't imagine not having the 90+ with the 28" bar in the arsenal even for cutting firewood.

Enter the sandman. I have three stock low hour saws that do what they were designed to very well. Should anything be done to them other than running good gas through them and keeping the chain sharp?

Yep.. Thanks again bro. Wish I could swing the port job right now (I want to have it ported for the spring GTG to run against another members 261 mtronic), but ain't happening with Mama just bringing home another 50". Gonna be working some O.T. here in the next few weeks :(

Glad to just have the saw .

    Thanks again Terry
