No chit, worth its weight in back spasms.
    30 clams
Needs to be this make with the niddle on the end of the replaceble tip.
    Super solid.
A couple wraps of electrical tape keeps the set screw happy.
    Blue Loc-Tite is overkill.

Well Brian, not allowing milk crates really brings this thread down a notch or three!

Gloves, matches or something to light with (lighters), super cedars or similar, ash shovels, pokers, small dust pan and broom for cleaning up, stove thermometers, soapstone blocks (glove or boot driers).

Ash buckets, log tongs, heavy winter gloves, infrared temp gun, moisture meter, log chain, pickeroon, cant hook, marker for marking length of logs, wedges, axe, splitting maul.

Those are just some ideas that come to mind right away. Probably will think of more but so will others.

    Good luck on this.

    Mentioned a moisture meter.
Its for a great cause so i guess well have to let it slide this time

I think the cheapest and most used item I have is the water bottles for bar oil..... not much help I know:whistle:

Next would be the carpet knife I carry to clean bars betweeen chains. Believe me they work really well and make a big difference.

Ok Im gonna have a hard time differentiating this but since I don't have a lot of ways to go I use my wheelbarrow when I need to use scraps in a pit.

Now I picked up a couple of these bread crates that were on the side of the walk and I figured use them to bring wood to the wood bin that I'll have on my patio/overhang or use them to bring inside. Now I use two hatchets: one is a tomahawk style but its really an axe hammer combo from craftsman. Don't consider it a roofing hammer the blade is long. Then I have another hatchet that is old school this really splits my kindling up nicely.

I do have at least two mauls, they don't get used as much as they did in the spring. The new splitter replaced them but I do on occasion split a round when I get one to just find the MC and its a quick job. 2 axes, one is just a standard axe and another is a Pulaski style axe. It came in a set of 3 mauls for 40 bucks so I kept two one with a long handle and heavier bit and the other is a short handle wood. One went to a lady friend who's kids wanted to split rounds. They didn't have a maul yet.
    Good buy!

I may have this upside down in terms of cost but again Im not using a milk crate here.

On another note I have been selling wood in a box for your weekender who needs a fire. Its good wood splits, kindling and then I put those wax-sawdust firestarters in a dixie cup and send them on their way. The box is from Costco the black bin that has a yellow lid on it but Im omitting the lid here. Its just used for the storage but It helps when I can use my hand cart and wheel it out. IMG_2572.JPG

Gloves, I have those at at least a dozen around here but since I wear them out so much, 2-4 bucks a pair is where I keep it at. Something smooth enough to wear most of the day.

Speaking of that, I'm thinking about getting one of those Yeti thermos. I've talked to a few folks who have them and they say that yes, they can keep water cold for 2 days with no problem even if the thermos is in the sun part of the time.

Dennis, our son has one. It works very well, but no better than the inexpensive knock-off our Gson got from Wally's for a fraction of the cost.

For a difference in cost between a Yeti and brand X (if similar results), ya might want to deal with Wally's....
