Of any firewood I have cut locust has always been a favorite and possible the species I have cut the most of barring possibly cherry. When I made the name I had my old stove and man did I love loading that thing up with locust plus I have cut my fair share of locust fence posts for the farmer I cut on most.

Peterson is my last name, everybody calls me Pete. My family out in the Pacific Northwest calls me the Flatlander because of the obvious. It's flat in Illinois where I'm at!!

Some say my screen name means it's a long shot that I'll hit anything. o_O
Others say it's because I like to bet on long shots. :emptywallet:
It's actually because I hit the target (a tin can) with my grandfather's Winchester 74 .22lr taking my very first shot when I was 6 years old. I've used it ever since.

As someone has already said, "Great thread", DaveGunter !

My screen names are usually related to a favorite sports team, of which I consider myself borderline fanatic. I'm also a fan of the X-Men character, so it all ties in.

I had a Woodmaster 5500 owb for about 10 years. Seamed like all I did was cut wood to feed the beast. That's where the name woodslave came from. Don't get me wrong I love too cut wood, but it was really starting to be like working. My shed is 16x32 and was full plus everything outside and more. KIMG0079.jpg

    ....so....not always.

The fun part of drafting is when you can form
a pace line w/3,4,5 or more riders. Each person takes their turn pulling.
When your pull is done, you drop to the end of the line and can
rest until your turn to pull comes back around.
The year I did Ride the Rockies, my partner and I hooked up w/3 other guys.
Doing 1min pulls, we ran the 50 miles from Alamosa to Villa Grove up the Gun Barrel, in 2.5hrs.
    It was a blast.

I gasify my firewood in a wood gasification boiler.

When I told my wife many years ago, when I joined my first Internet forum, my screen name she said, “Oh, how appropriate.”:picard: I don’t know why. But, I don’t listen to her much anyway. :zip:

And you shouldn’t listen to some of the other members of this forum either. They are like the pot calling the kettle black. Some of them are why Adam needed to add :fart:. :faint::loco: :picard:Un-couth I tells ya!
