Yes, I'm down here on the peninsula and when everyone else is getting snow, we usually get rain. I'm not afraid of cold by any means, I just prefer to be a little warmer. I have relatives in St. Johns Newfoundland and my father was a Glouchester fisherman so we all know the cold well. I spent many years on the water, and the damp and cold gets to me any more. I will say, I've been looking at Maine pretty hard! Also got some feelers out in Connecticut.

I remember hearing on NPR one day, they were talking about someone who had made a big effect on whatever it was he did and how most men never really reach their potential because of all the distractions in life. You can imagine what all those could be. But anywho, he apparently said or wrote one day. "I don't need the solitude of a hermit, I need the solitude of a dead man." LOL I thought that was interesting. You guys talking about a cabin in the woods and all. Where would you buy your frozen pizza though?!:D I would need to know this.

Had a lot of fun on the farm when I was that age. But that all change when my grandfather died.

Its a good way to live but the 24/7 part takes its toll.

That's the part about farming that the majority of the public really cannot wrap their heads around. You are NEVER "off" and there is no sick time or vacation. Especially if animals are involved. It's not impossible to get away but it's 10X more difficult than your average job for sure. A little more complicated than getting a pet sitter for fido.

Dairy farming is a brutal schedule, glad I grew up on a registered Angus operation. ;)

I had to wait a week for a part for my microwave. It's amazing how you're not as hungry as you think if you actually have to cook something.

Make your frozen pizza. We make 6 of them at a time or so. Bake the crust for 3-4 minutes let cool, top it, wrap it in cling wrap, and then aluminum foil.

Oh yeah pipe welder by trade.

There have been a couple threads on the subject, it's a NatGeo show about tree services. I just got my first peak at it.

Big bad wood is a show on Nat Geo that's follows 4 tree services that do. Tree removals. Its more realistic than most but still your typical fake reality show. Been on here for a month and half but in Alaska just previewd a week or 2 ago and previewed somewhere this summer?

    It shows lots of. Saws!!!
