If I remember right they were by the shackles and chains and stuff like that, but that was 20 years ago
Back when they kept shackles handy for those crazy guys that tried to burn wood to heat there homes .

As you can see in the second picture I placed some O.S.B. on the sides so I could stack right to the height of the cab all the way through. I could have went one side board higher on my stake rack sides but I thought they would look good with just the two boards. And really, most of the time the truck will be empty. I'm happy with them. I do have to move the entire rack of boards slightly toward the cab though. I realized now that I did not need to leave them as far off the window as I did. They need to be moved back about an inch or inch and a half. The wood is almost all Ash, a little Maple. All split and stacked on pallets outside in the late spring.
I wasn't. Just started this year. Trying to off set some of the cost of the taxes and other expenses associated with camp/land purchase.
Looks nice! I would have defaulted to gloss black. Also my hubby has a similar truck, the back doors open like suicide doors and he loves it.
These stake racks are great. Another load going under the porch. Looks like one and a half loads left!
