In the tool bag is scrench, grease gun, a putty knife, can of break cleaner and cleaning brush, couple felling wedges. I keep spare chains in the truck and a mull, straps and chains in the tool box of the truck,,,and a roll of crap paper.
I take saws, wedges, ax, and some extra stuff I leave in the truck. I carry a carb adjustment screw driver and screnches.
Saw Scrench ATV Trailer A cup of coffee (if I'm cutting in the AM) PPE Chain That's it. Everything else is a quick ATV ride back home. I usually run out of room on the trailer before I run the saw out of gas or oil.
Chainsaws, Axe, Hatchet, gas tanks, Oil, First aid kit, PPE, super glue, rope, wedges, chalk, tape measure, coffee or pop, spare chains, files, tool bag, ice cleats, and now after reading the previous posts.... Toilet paper.
I bring most of what everyone else does but I also include a first aid kit and a cell phone for worse case scenarios.
Same here Bob. Wood cutting gear… and, the cel phone. My bride has made that the #1 thing I have to have with me… she doesn't even care if I forget fuel or wrenches… can you imagine that?
I take 2 saws my ms310 and my echo cs330t. I also take an extra bar and couple chains just in case. I also take a cant hook, extra gas n oil of course, some ripe and a block, some chain and a come along, an axe and a splitting maul and wedges. And my boys as long as I'm not planning on taking down any big trees.
Normally I only take 2 saws, few hand tools, safety glasses, and gloves. I cut at the city brush site a few miles from the house so no biggie if I forget something. First aid kit is always in the SUV along with a phone in my pocket. If I plan on cutting a lot I drag a trailer with a lot more supplies.
During the winter I converted an aluminum toolbox I had laying around to use as a grab-box for my wood cutting tools. In it are spare chains, 2 screnches, safety glasses, ear plugs/muff, some wedges, sharpening files, and a gallon of oil and gas. I always make sure everything is in it so I can just grab it and go without thinking about it. I either take 1 or 2 saws depending on how large the wood is I'm getting into, and sometime a sledge as well. In my truck I also always have a full Craftsmen tool set, first aid kit (including super glue), both pulling and ratchet straps, and of course, toilet paper.
I added an ATV trailer this year. rough muddy trail to the new area, cleaner wood, more wood per trip.
