I'm the other way with the phones. I only have a cell phone, as I need one for work. My phone was 100 bucks, straight talk from walmart. 55 bucks a month for unlimited data. Our home phone would be alot more, and wouldn't be able to do alot of the app stuff that I also use for work, or hunting. A cell phone typically lasts me a year or so. I can't comment on the drinking as I quit years ago, and now save boat loads of money. (I was an alcoholic, drunken fool however). edit: alot aint no word. see above
I only have a cell phone. Either buy refurbs (my Samsung S5 that I just gave up last December - so had it 4-5 years and paid somewhere around $130), or last year's model, new from a reseller (current Samsung S9+, for $300). Buy the phone up front and keep them a long time. I actually only gave up the S5 because I was taking a trip at Christmas to see my folks and my phone could not download the airline app to get my ticket. Otherwise I would still have it (actually, still have it so it could be a back up if needed) My phone bill is $55/month. I only get 1G in data, but if I go over the plan automatically jumps me up to 2G and only another $5. Rarely go over data since when I'm at home (most of the time) it uses my wifi.
Look into the straight talk. unlimited is handy, and I always use about 20 gigabytes. same money. I can only use verizon here, and that is what straight talk is, just no contract
Not in my area. It's a hard place and the only reliable connection is to US Cellular. My contract isn't really a contract - I've been with the same place since the mid-90's, I should have used the word "plan" instead. I don't think $55 is bad at all. Especially considering my old land line (pre-2014) cost $45/month and only included an hour of long distance. ALL my family is long distance.
Wife doesn’t have cell phone I do for business but we have a land line also.. very few outsiders have my cell number most actually are on FHC
2015 Nissan Leaf for about 3 months. The range is about 65 miles and my round trip commute is 25 miles.
Havent read this entire thread but did skim through some of it. A huge savings for me is bringing my lunch to work on a daily basis. I work in a larger city so any of the Delis in the city aren't shy when it comes to pricing. A lunch on an average day would cost around ten bucks so that's a good savings. Leaves me more money for beer
