My daily has changed since last time I posted. Bike shop gig fizzled due to winter time layoff. Just couldn’t afford that (mid Dec-late March). A friend got me a job as an interlock technician sometime in ‘18. Basically installing and maintaining vehicle breathalyzers for people who have had DUI’s. It’s not that fun for clients, so don’t drink and drive!!

I'm a calciner (type of kiln) operator, a dirt chef...lol...mix and cook Kaolin, a type of white clay that is mined in our area. Our products are used in the paint, rubber and vinyl, inks and cement industries. Our products are probably in everyone's house somewhere.
Been with the same company 32 yrs now.

Sounds like a great life. Grew up in Greeley, Ne. so dad was volunteer firefighter and chief for a few years until he got older, so my hat is off to all volunteers that risk their lives for no pay.

I bounced around for a few years doing sales mostly. It was a good learning experience and it taught me how to talk on the phone but for the most part, I am not very social and I didn't enjoy the work.

Right now, I tell myself that I am great at creative business and leveraging data. In reality, I have a job hearding cats to look at the daily sales report. I have had a good number of big wins and those are always exciting. I focus on data and some software development.
