May I ask a question? I was working on a genealogy project, collecting pennies from every one in my family tree's birthyear, I would look the though the extra penny tray at grocery store and gas stations for over a decade, and still do though I can't read the years anymore LOL. I found so many 1964's. The percent of 1964 to any other year is huge. Would you know why?

Any silver coin pre 1964 is actually silver. The melt value of most of them is higher than the currency value.

Cool thread; plenty of talent here on the forum. I'm a toolmaker/CNC programmer/prototype machinist for a defense contractor. I mostly build the tools required to manufacture, assemble and service military/commercial jet engines. 4 years at the current job, 20+ years in the trade in general. Hoping to someday leave the military industrial complex and have a job in the woods.

Summer between my 8th and 9th grades, I went to Stillwater, OK and learned to shoe horses. (I was 14). T.Jeff Veal '62 is THE year! Anyway, managed a horse farm (Standardbreds) upon graduation then as my dad said, my brain got stronger than my back and shoeing horses wasn't my career option. Graduated in '86 from Purdue as a Vocational Agriculture teacher. It then became known as Agriculture Education. Now I don't know what they are calling/changing it to, but I will keep the title of Ag. Ed. Instructor. I have a couple teams that I use around our small farm. We raise freezer beef and freezer pork. Our grandkids show our steers until they are sold to customers.

Thought I had posted in this thread a long time ago, but I guess I’ll bore you all now:D
Worked fast food during high school, paper route before that. Planned to go to trade school for programming but there was a wait list so got a construction job for about 14months pouring concrete and putting up steel buildings along with any finish carpentry needed. Did the college thing for all but the last quarter and left two weeks into that last qt as I couldn’t stand computers anymore :headbang: Back to construction for a framing crew that travelled and made great money while acquiring tools and Noledge. Bounced around in several companies in construction along with my own business for three years but wife hated that. Got fired from one job, and got a job the next day for a small concrete company doing everything from walls to stamped concrete and loved it! Hardest working job in my opinion but wasn’t paying enough and no bene’s. Wife is a teacher and got a job at our high school as the custodian but two years later back to commercial construction for a company that only builds churches. Ended up being a site Supt for them but alas, tired of being gone. Two years of Outside Sales for Fastenal and then onto my current job of 12 years as Director of Maint for a small school district. Planning to retire in a short 6572 days from here with a nice pension. Plus always doing side gigs of construction/painting, and slowing starting to do tree work some. Love serving my community as a Volunteer EMT my church family as I’m called upon. Preached several times and even served as a minister for a funeral last April. dad of three girls and love my high school sweetheart who I’ve been married to for 22 years and is still my best friend.
