VT, that’s another story! According to our next door neighbors, 2’ of heavy wet snow. Our other neighbor behind us who is a bit higher in elevation; 42.5” of snow. Holy……..

Power has been out since Tuesday morning. Word on the street is Saturday for it to come back on. We shall see!

30" here and I have a friend in the next town that measured 35". I was out of power for 47 hours and 45 minutes - the first time. Then was out of power another 8 hours or so starting early this morning.

damm! Hope you guys fared okay? As much as I'd HATE moving it around (and power outages), I'd love to see that much snow at once (earlier in the winter).

These are part way thru the storm. The first is about 2pm (love how part of it is sliding off), the second is just before 5 pm. And then it snowed more after that. truck at 2-15 pm on 3-14-23.jpg

Comparison pics - 1st was taken on Sunday (that pile to the right is about 4' tall), the second taken Wednesday Afternoon. Also, notice to the very left the difference in snow height compared to the rail to the ramp. 20230312_161839.jpg north side.jpg

bogieb that is a lot of snow in a short period of time. A real pain to get rid of it when it piles up like that.

Yep we were fine. When I was a kid it was pretty common to get a couple storms a year with snowfall like that. The power going out is a bit of an inconvenience but we are prepared with a generator only because we have a freezer with hundreds of pounds of meat in it. If it wasn’t for that I wouldn’t bother with the generator. The one annoyance is the town is short on plow drivers and did a pretty terrible job on my road 8C18D78C-F380-4C1D-8B4F-AA8083210994.jpeg C29ADB1F-2219-42C8-9E8A-B9B5E80FC129.jpeg

I'm betting 30"+ snow pretty much stops solar panels in their tracks...

    I wish we'd gotten 30"
and power out for a couple days would have been ok too.
    Bummer.

We got maybe a foot of wet slushy. with 40* days following, I didn't lift a shovel.

I don't understand the question. The whole state had plenty of people without power, why would I be any different?

I don't have a battery back up installed, so once the line goes down, my production is stopped anyway.

My intent for installing solar was not to be grid free. I have been happy so far with the results. Even with 8 of the 20 panels the panels still completely snow covered and 6 of them partially covered on 3/16, once I got power back, I produced almost as much energy than I used - and that was with charging all my batteries (except 2), doing a load of laundry (electric dryer - which hits hard - you can tell when it ran) and running the dishwasher - oh, and the fridge/freezer getting cold again. If I had a battery backup, it would have been producing energy before the power company had things fixed on both the 16th and 17th.

On the 17th, I produced more than I used, with
