Yep. The musicians that I grew up with are 15-20 older than me. That puts them in their 70's. While 70 isn't considered as old as it once was, hard living takes it's toll.

damm, I have been mostly offline for a few days and did not hear about Paul. Its sad that many of this generation's artists are leaving us, much of today's music doesnt have what they did.

I did manage to see Paul in a small club in Boston while he was part of KBC along with Marty Balin and Jack Casidy. The more I think about it the more I realize that The Paradise Rock Club on Comm ave was such a big part of me.

    RIP Paul

You would think so, and for the most part you are right. And yet, so many that live to 100+ say that they smoked and drank daily, we will see if the drug using generation had similar individuals that make it against all odds. I guess that there will always be those that go against the odds.

I'm not a Beck fanatic, but when this album came out, I got hooked, this would have been about '75. This is jazz fusion done right. I'd be interested in what others consider Beck's best?

Sure there are some that will always make it past what the norm is. They are what you call outliers in statistics. No one should pattern life choices on an outlier.

She many of these really old people that are centurians say they drank a coke or a whiskey and a snickers everyday or whatever. But the key is in moderation or one. Doctors have shown that a drink or two is not necessary bad for you. Its when you drink a fifth of liquor a night and smoke 4 packs a day for two decades that gets you. Smoking will period unless you have some gene or predisposition in your body to resist the ill effects of them...which is not many.

When I read this what popped into my mind was the band Beck. "I'm a looser baby so why dont you kill me"

Generation difference. That was from the 90s
