Aside from a couple outdoor concerts, on a small scale with little to not known artists, it's been a while for us too, to hit a real concert. I think it was 2 years ago was the last ones for us. April 9th as well we get to go to a national tour, with a known band, with songs that we know and love, Indoors even. Lol
I'm a square fellas. The only and last concert I went to was a KISS concert. Some friends took me to get "cultured". I made out a bunch of fat guys in drag and heavy makeup on the stage, but through all the dope smoke I couldn't be sure. I was all concerted out after that. That was in 96.
IMHO, KISS was/ is a weird band to go see. It's all shock and awe. I know I'll catch flack for this, but their music isn't really good either. Janis Joplin was wayyyyy over hyped, Eric Clapton too, and Eddie vedder, despite having an interesting voice isn't that great of a musician, especially a song writer . "Hunger strike" by Temple of the Dog is a case in point of Chris Cornell kicking Eddie's butt at singing.
Went and saw The Maine last night in Milwaukee. What a great show! I've never seen them live, and it looks like I've been missing out. Took the free street parking option, no issues and that covered a round of drinks. Only had to walk 2 blocks which was not bad at all. The opening band started at 7 we got there at 7, walked right in, no line really, made our way to the balcony and had room to not be bumped. The bar was just 20 feet away and I heard the bathrooms were only a little further away. Well worth the upgrade. Good live music is well worth the cost and effort
What's funny is they are from Phoenix, Arizona. They needed a name for their band before a show, and they did a cover of a song called " the coast of Maine" by another artist. So they went with "The Maine" that was 2007. They are an independent band as well. They had a record deal and lost it, idk how because they are really really good, but have their own independent label.
