Still waiting for a break in the weather here. I can't imagine going back to a sickle mower. How bored were you?

Sloooooooow.... but having to keep making adjustments kept me from being bored! Was kinda two steps forward, one step back. Went from a 7' cut disc mower to the 9'9" and added conditioning... but slower cutting sickle, and that dang reat knocking leaves off!:headbang:

My BIL is going to bale and bag the alfalfa field across the road from me this year. It is thick enough to run the mowditioner and not need to rake.

    Finished up this modification.

Picked up a dewalt dry saw model dw872. Loved the power head but the table and vise blows nuts.

So I made a bolt down plate and use mill bed fixturing devices to hold the stock. Rock solid now and the angles are accurate. Doesn't really take all that much longer to setup for a cut.

Currently working on a roll around base for my grandpas old craftsman table saw.

So got a surprise from my in laws yesterday, found this waiting for me at the farm...
    20150521_190845.jpg

A year old Kuhn 2 basket hay tedder, so I headed out to tedder the 6 acres of alfalfa I've got down. We had a tenth of rain on it Wednesday after cutting. Will take some getting used to not turning to short! Still don't like the idea of moving the hay yet again, but it does make drying time quicker. Here are some action shots...

Nice! You've got enough tractor for a six rotor.;) Resist the urge to tedd everything.

I was hoping for at least a 4 rotor, but can't complain... to much:D

We only have 20 total acres on hay right now, and only 8 of that is alfalfa or clover... I am gonna try tedding the canary reed grass, that stuff is so thick it's harder to dry then the alfalfa first cutting!

Idle the tractor down as much as possible too. I used to set it so the hay would just barely lift and fan out. Ground speed was usually fairly high too. Depends on how many chuck holes were in that field.

You're just wanting to fluff it. That'll break up any wads and provide more airflow. On clover or soaking rained on I like to run at 500-540 on the pto and sling it. Only tedd alfalfa & clover with enough moisture to keep the leaves on.

OK, it's confirmed. My optima red top battery in my ski boat is toast. I had it on the charger all day yesterday. It never dropped below 5amps even after that.

RIP red top, you served me well.
    2000-2015

Since I only have 1 battery on my boat, for now, I'll go with another agm I think. The agm can handle driving around then parking in a bay, and playing music for 6+ hours. The stereo has 4 6" round speakers and a 5 channel amp with a 10" sub. Then starting a 351 v8 no issue.

A deep cycle I don't think would handle the starting that well, and a regular starting battery would never handle the stereo that long.

I'd get another red top, but they are pricey now.

In addition to my other thread on my morning's work, I put up a 28" tall fence around the garden, weeded most of it, and replaced a couple of landscape lights that burnt out.

Drink time, and nothing else now.
