Water. I'm 6 weeks in to no alcohol. Sorry it does match up with your thread. Not judging. Nor did I need to quit. Stopped as I am on a workout regiment, and wanted to go 12 weeks without any alcohol to see what if any difference I notice. Given the choice, I've been partial of late to Bud light.
tastes like home i reckon, they`re still selling it in a 30er crate for 10euros - cant complain about that. family owned bizness as far as i can recall. prost to you fellas!
How is that working out for you, as I age I find I need to back off on how much I drink, no more then 3 at a time now. I did buy some of the holiday special formula Bud. lager (6.1 percent alc.) and its a little strong but had to try it.
That's why I like craft brews.... usually higher alcohol content... 1,2, or 3 is usually all I drink at a time. Plus the flavor they have. For me it's about quality vs. quantity...
It's funny, I quit soda cold turkey about 15 years ago. Well not entirely. When we go away for vacation I'd have a rum and Coke or I'd have a Jack and Coke. Just a light splash mind you. Juice was the next thing. We've always cut juice. Half water half juice. Juice is just too sugary by my book. As I'm overweight I eventually cutout all juice about 10 years ago. Now I've doing the no alcohol for 12 weeks. Mainly to see how it impacts my health along with migraines. To be honest, I could see me dropping alcohol except for a few here or there with a few exceptions. We are going to see friends for New Years and I'll probably have a few then. One thing I like is the bill at dinner on the weekend. Nice when you total bill is about $20 cheaper. Since I just drink water. Jason from RI
Yep, very seldom drink out unless my boss is paying .... since my beer fridge and kegerator is always stocked. Glad it's working out for you.
Sweet. I've never heard of it before. What kind of bier is it? My father's side of our family is from Schleswig Holstein and my mother's side is from eastern Germany.
More or less a Pilsener - Urtyp means Archetype, on the brewerys site it says about the beer "..kräftige und herb-würzige Aroma" google translate says: strong and tangy-spicy aroma. Sounds a bit feminine translationwise... i can asure you, it aint. Its been around since i reached legal drinkin age (16y) and sure been around way before that. As its a small brewery its more known round here but if you have the chance give it a try. So youre a Northernlight/Nordlicht (thats how we refer to us) at least to some parts. did they came over after the war?
Thanks for the info. Not a big pilsner fan, more of a Hefeweisen guy, but I'm always looking for good German bier...and there a lot of them! They came over in the late 1800's to eastern Iowa. Here is a picture of a couple relatives on their recent trip back to the area we're from.
Oh dont worry theres plenty, a beer for every taste - let me know if you should come to krautland. we will have a few cold ones for sure. ah eastern hillcountry - am i right? i reckon i have to open up a krautland thread....
Weihenstephan, thats the place where they teach how to become a beerbrewery and stuff - i cant drink more than one (Hefeweizen) at a time - stops me beeing thirsty. I had an Alpirsbacher Weizen -Hefe Hell the other night... good stuff! Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu - Alpirsbacher Klosterbräu EN - Das Bier aus dem Schwarzwald
Sierra Nevada celebration ale. Yum. I like ipa and this doesn't disappoint. Not the best, but hits the spot lately for some reason. Usually try a new sixer each week to compliment my keystone light.
Hop valley out of eugene Oregon as well as fogcutter double ipa from lost coast out of eureka ca. Yum.
