I can't do the Summer Shandy. Really I haven't liked anything from Leinenkugel which stunk because I used to have a free hookup from a guy I worked with.

My summer go-to beer in the summer is Bell's Oberon. I'll go through several of their mini gravity kegs until fall comes.

Yeah, I don't know why it's so cheap there, but it's good.

Once a year, or so, when i'm feelin' fancy, I'll buy a sixpack of some exotic brew. I always end up hating it, but hate to waste beer, so I end up choking it down. Then I swear off the fancy brews for a year or so and go back to my trusty Labatt's Blue. Well tonight is the night that I went for the fancy stuff again. This time I bought Labatt's Apple Harvest Ale--Prohibition Series. And, as usual, I don't like it. It's not as nasty as some of my previous fancys, but it sure isn't gonna be a regular purchase. One of these days I'll find another brew that I like. Until then, I'll stick with my regular.

Drinking some diesel left over from the party last weekend.

I'm not sure if this is a local thing or not...but regular budweiser is usually called diesel. Dunno.

Never heard that, on the rare occassion I am at a bar I order them as Bud Heavy because too often I'll get handed the light version if I just say Bud.

Drinking a couple homebrew Scottish ales after a hot day.

I typically stay away from any beer that has a fruit named in it. Also, while I occasionally enjoy a run-of-the-mill macro brew like Labatt's, Budweiser, Yuengling, or Coors Original, I find that the specialty beers those breweries put out are always terrible! If you want to try something different, I suggest a six pack from a company you're not familiar with that has the name pilsner or lager in it, those styles are normally more tame tasting. Sam Adam's Light is a good option too. Once you get used to the extra flavor of a micro brew, it's easier to step up some of the other ale's, IPA's, etc.

Yeah, fruit and beer definately don't mix well. Hard cider is good, but apple and beer should be kept separate. I have never had a microbrew that I liked, either. Just have simple tastes, I guess.

ye old scudwieser, had one with the homeowner I built a deck for couple months back. They only taste good after a days work in the sun.

Doublefisting my staples tonight, almost grabbed a bottle of Bombay and some tonic, my lime tree has ~8 fruit ready for evening highballs

Those limes would be better served in a marguarita.
I got tired of drinking the wife's gin and tonics and commandeered the drink making duties.
    1 shot tequila
    1 shot good triple sec
    1/2 ounce lime juice

Oh yeah, and crushed ice too, not cubes.

The little lady may agree but they give me heartburn.
I'll get all three, gin, tequila, triple sec and then we can both relax happily

Me too if I use that marguarita mix crap. That's why if I ever have one when we're out, I ask how they make it.
I think good triple sec is key also.
