Nice concrete work! Got to love the stamped stuff it's hard to tell from the materials it try's to imitate a lot of times. My brother works for a pretty sizeable local concrete and material supplier here he does the inspecting and QC work for them so I showed him the pics and he gave the  too! Going to be awesome and well worth the hard work all said and done. If a jobs worth doing it's worth doing right one time, the first time:cool:

Talking with Scotty at work the other day he said they have some problems with the concrete and the workmanship. I know he is busy cutting trees and may not be on much so I thought I would at least give you that much. Hopefully he can get things resolved and finally be able to make a pizza.

What are the problems? I want to pour a concrete sidewalk next month and I'm not exactly an expert.

This project turned into an absolute nightmare about a month ago, when the worthless contractor messed up the 3rd and final pour.....

Long story short, the patio is a different shade of red and the contractor won't return my calls, so I'm gonna have to get the magistrate involved.

We're going to press ahead and keep working, but next spring the patio will be getting torn up and replaced......ugh.. I'd like to have the footing and main skeleton of the fireplace/pizza oven done by the end of fall, possibly even have the whole apparatus finished if the weather and time cooperates.

    I'll post some pictures soon....

Pick a good contractor who puts EVERYTHING down in writing........and look at his personal character/habits.

The guy I picked turned out to be a real piece of work.....smh

Scotty Overkill I've got some experience with colored concrete. Imo, the contractor isn't who you need to be calling. The concrete supplier mixed it wrong, if the red is the issue. Yes, obviously the contractor should be returning your calls but I get why he says it isn't his fault.

Call the company who mixed and delivered the crete. They have people on staff to examine problem pours, and develop solutions. They may even help you find a new contractor.

If the crete company will admit fault, they should cover labor for removal and replacement!

I've seen this problem myself. The supplier paid for all incurred costs and made it right.

Actually, we did call the concrete supplier, and they have the contractor, on recording, ordering different manufacturers "brick red". Two pours were done with "Davis" brick red, the third pour was done using "Butterfield" brick red. That's how the idiot ordered it.

Trust me, we've been researching the whole situation.

Sounds like you need to dispatch the FHC militia to this contractor's house.

    WOW! :headbang:

Ok then. As Ron White says, you can't fix stupid. And that is nothing short of stupid as hell.

Sounds like some lawyers need to be involved.

Trust me, I had full intentions of doing this patio myself. I've poured many, many yards of concrete over the years, but I never did the dyed/stamped concrete.......so I was leary of taking it on without experience.

After wathing these two clowns, I think my 12yr old daughter could've done a much better job......

At any rate, we'll make the best of it. The heartbreak is it took us three years of saving pennies and dimes to finally do this project.

Stamped and dyed can be really easy or an absolute nightmare if the mud starts setting up faster than you can stamp.
