We've built a few small fires in the hearth under the pizza oven so far, man does it ever look like it's from the 1700s (which is the exact look I was after)!! I just found and bought two antique cast iron kettles on 'da bay', going to clean and season them for soups and stews this fall/winter!!

Some pics with both fires going...

    A very old, fairly locally-made 3 gallon pot....gatemarked and logo'd "Marietta, PA".

And this 8 gallon gatemarked and logo'd 8 gallon "Baltimore" pot. I'll forge an appropriate bail (with crane detent) for it as soon as i get it here.

Both pots will get completely stripped, cleaned and re-seasoned so we can start using them in the coming weeks!

Worked a few more details out on the pizza oven the past two days. Crazy how life throws wrenches into yiur engine and gets you sidetracked!

The grade will cover the exposed block, all that'll be seen is the stone. There was no sense stoning any further down....

The cement wasn't cooperating with some of the heavier stones, I like hanging veneer in warmer weather. So I had to put a few pieces of Bradford pear firewood to work as kickstands....

Got the grout in the joints and pointed, gonna give it a good cleaning tomorrow and backfil the foundation with stone and a perforated pipe....

Now I can get the area behind the oven (where I cache my "keeper" wood throughout the winter season) cleaned up and prepped for winter hoarding. I will be keeping it neatly stacked as best I can from now on (per Mrs. Overkill's wishes). Then once we are finished up burning after the spring shoulder season I'll transfer what Ive gathered and split all winter long to the main stacks down back..

Pic of the patio/oven area at the beginning of the project and currently......what a journey it's been.....

So where is the Jacuzzi and outside shower? My son-in-law and daughter have one in a hut with two sides. They use it all year round. Love the fireplace and patio

You just can not beat a wood fired pizza. Great job sticking with it and getting it done, looks amazing.

Well tell her she got us good!

I have some rubber snakes from the dollar store put on the window sill in a couple places, if I don't we have a male cardinal that beats the crap outta his reflection all the time...which apparently cardinals fight dirty, including pooping on each other, then smearing it in :picard:
The rubber snakes have stopped all that mess!
