That right there is the reason I picked up the eldorado wood stove. Guy burnt maybe 2 cord and said it wouldn't work right or heat his place. I said, you do know that your wood has to be seasoned three years, right? He used to have a Ben Franklin style stove (non epa) that he had used since he built the house three years earlier......Good for me, I bought it for just over $200. So far, I think that turns out to be about $40 a year cost for that stove! Just checked....I think I got it 3 years ago, not 5. CRS

I've tried that stuff. It worked ok, but still used a razor quite abit. I'm definitely going to try the xylene recepie. I have tried the non gel oops! cleaner on glass stove glass before, but it gave it a slight blue tint in places. The stove glass was to hot I believe. My fault
It works fine! Take your time and it will start eating it off. A old dish rag or some kind of course cloth works well. "DON'T" use a sponge... Xylene don't mix well if the sponge is synthetic, hahaha... You'l have a blob of crap in your hand...
I suppose you all want to know how I came up with that recipe... Well it's actually not mine but I improved on it with the xylene, we use to use it on the boiler glass to clean it so we could see in the fire boxes on the US Navy ships boilers. That small site window would get nasty from Bunker-C and we tried everything. F-76 jet fuel works also if you have some of that lying around...
