I dreamed about that woods all that night. A little piece of Heaven for sure. Wish I'd remembered that the camera was in the car before we headed into the woods. Could have taken lots of pictures. It is simply amazing.

fwiw, today I also found an ash with leaves on it! Not quite as large but plenty of leaf there. But I also know the bug is still here because a couple weeks ago I found one.

Oh ya, another great thing is that there were basically no mosquitoes either there or at home! Hardly any standing water anywhere this year but we know that can change in a heartbeat. I can remember many very wet months of June. Two in particular; one it rained 28 days and the other 29 days in June. Difficult to say the least when trying to put up hay but great for raising a good crop of skeeters.

Staying in St Ignace but will be bouncing around all over. I used to be up there all the time in 02/03 when I drove all over the country. Always loved the UP! Used to pick up in L'anse and Manistique quite a bit. Would run up through Michigan and across the UP a lot when heading to very northern wisconsin, minnesota, or west to avoid Chicago too.

That is wise to avoid Chicago and going north surely beats that by a bunch!

Sounds like y'all had a great day except for the key thing.
It was mosquitoes out back today not a lot but a few.

A couple of weeks ago I walked out of the house without my keys in my pocket, lock the door behind me , it was cool outside so all the windows were shut and locked, I looked in my wallet in my truck key was not there, so here I am locked out of my house, locked out of my truck locked out of my pole barn, but I had my phone called my daughter she has a key, when I called she was setting with hair color in her hair, I said wait until I try to break in with a credit card, took me a bit but I got the door open.
I usually check my pocket before I walk out the door but I did not.
Now I have a truck key and a house key in my wallet, hope I don't forget that too :picard::emb:

Skeeters aren't bad here either until late in the day or if you are in the shade and just sitting still. I was parked under a big maple yesterday waiting for deer to move off and got attacked so went back to the house for the thermacell. Turned out it was not needed but great insurance!

Great! As long as you are staying in St. Ignace, You might as well take a look at this bridge I've been trying to sell for awhile...It's big, can handle a lot of traffic but I just don't use it much any longer and would like to see it go to someone who would use it more than I can. Even named it..."Big Mack"...not to be confused with the sandwich. If you are interested, just google "big mack bridge images" and have a looksee. Priced for immediate sell! Motivated seller! Best offer-(you get it)

Not so sure it would be a good idea to sell that bridge Dave. Although there are times...
