Well I have to say these Wood Products softwoods are HOT!!! Ashy? Yes. But, even accounting for the warm temps (the outside temps were in the 40's Friday night and the stove, set on level #1), the old Englander kept the heated side of my shop (1100 sq. ft.) @ 80F plus. One thing I noticed that I have never encountered before... I keep a few bags of pellets about three feet from the stove and they picked up enough heat from the stove to make the plastic bags hot to the touch and almost semi-melted! Yikes! I'll have to move 'em away for now. Not sure if this will happen in the dead of winter...

Lots of stoves here on CL. I think most are being sold because the owners don't know how to clean 'em and keep them running.

I bought an inside door at the lumber yard today and I saw they still have a few pallets of these Wood Fibers pellets at the $198.00 sale price so I think I'll pull the trigger on two more tons this weekend. They also have Marth softies @ $220/ton.

You are probably right... I still like the warmth of our stove compared to the chill we feel in most of our house due to the ancient ducting system that was installed when our house had a coal furnace.
