So in my quest to become a better welder...ive been gathering some parts and pieces. Figured not crouching on the garage floor welding was a good step forward!
Picked this table up at Harbor Freight since they were nice enough to send a 20 percent of coupon. Picked up some little magnets too. Made sure no one got me it fir Christmas first :)

I have one just like it with stronghold on the stickers. It's actually pretty handy for more than just welding.

And it's more work to clean it off so you wind up kneeling on the floor welding.

I keep a 3/16 plate about that size I toss on the saw horses for welding. About 32”X36”

I get by with just the sawhorses. You guys would be proud of me for the amount of chit I can accumulate even on a 5 1/2" wide sawhorse top after a day or two.

Another piece of 3/16” plate here.

Even with the custom place to clamp the ground clamp! It’s on sawhorses, this rolling wood rack, and the floor as needed.
I just noticed it’s nearly clean. Unusual for a flat space like that in my shop.

Built my own years ago from a 4 x 6 sheet of 3/8" HRPO with heavy angle iron legs and a nice set of 'stolen from Ford Motor' caster that my BIL pilfered from them. It weighs at least 500 pounds, maybe more nut it rolls nice on the Urethane casters.

4x8 here with a 3/8 plate top on casters.
It was an old table from some sort of factory. The only thing I did was add a piece to the uprights to make it a good working height for a tall guy. Perfect and no cost to me.
