Those pallets are indeed riddled with long nails and some sure are nasty since the oak doesn’t give up the moisture well. I pulled out the long runners off my pallets,haven’t measured them yet but I think close to 8 feet and 8 inches wide 1 inch thick. The lumber is ok, wood quality ranges from solid to some wood eaten or split. Nails are just that big caution in all pallets.
