No real problems with my 5 in 1. Router is 25ft from the head unit down the hall. There have been occurrences when I lost signal, but this was likely from power outages. 3 years the lithium batteries have shined through weeks of -30° weather and our winters and still running strong. Acurite tried to charge monthly for their services online but many people disapproved, so they didn't. The newer models may have a charge, I'm not sure.

Wow I never heard about this.. There's no reason for them to do this other than to get greedy.. The fancy weather station companies do charge which I would not allow..

I don't have a link for the charges, but do for their changes next month. Don't know whether or not it'll end or not for sure

Well , that's kind of messed up there ending Service for the smartHUB , At least owners can upgrade to AcuRite Access For a decent price , 40 bucks is better than $130.00
Technology upgrades are one thing but if they start charging There's going to be a lot of pizzed 0ff people .
I assume you have the smart hub Because you had it for a long time

This is a post I copied from an accurite Facebook group

Acurite is ending service and support for SmartHUB effective February 28, 2019 and basically rendering these devices useless bricks.

I am calling on Acurite to do the right thing and release the firmware to the public domain so we aren't left with a useless brick that we paid good money for.

I moved my Access away from the router...and to a different floor! Still have the random drop outs. Not sure what it is.

I'm jumping in at the end of this but just a little FYI. I upgraded my router antennas and since then no drops of my weather station or wifi cameras.

The cameras are the wife's thing. We board horses so she likes to keep an eye on things. I believe the cameras are Arlo, no fees.

Boy , The Alexa skill for My AcuRite Pretty much sucks , You can't ask for Information from a specific Sensor you have to scroll through them :picard:

I guess they shut down smartHUB now. My last records were the same day as they said they were shutting down. Can only read the digital screen in the house, weatherunderground or the acurite app won't and hasn't updated. Chitty on acurite to do this, even if they discounted that new hub they have

No, the hub is no longer sending info to the app or wunderground.

See the last data transfer was the end date for the HUB

I have found the hub must be placed a few feet from the router or I lose signal all the time..

Hub is near the router, even going on the laptop, the smart hub won't allow an update.

You don't have the smart hub any longer correct?
