Just startin' here as well. Supposed to get 4-8" between now and tomorrow morning. Really strong wind as well.
Will do yooperdave , it started earlier this morning. I'm not sure on how much we received but the pine branches are bending from the weight of the snow so if we get the wind with a chit load more snow, I think we'll lose power. They say the heavy stuff for our area moves in tonight.
Got a call from a buddy of mine a little while ago. He is a super for a large const. outfit in the area. They have the snow removal contract for the military base close to here. Wanted to know if I would run a loader for him pushing snow around at the base. Military used to take care of it, but has since farmed it out to contract. So, off we go later this evening to play in the snow......................
I was down at our neighbors putting in wood when he ask me if I wanted some coffee, I said sure so he went upstairs and grabbed two cups, I brought another two loads in and that's when we lost the power at 11 a.m., we just got it back at 3:50. We only have received about five inches of the wet heavy stuff so if we get hit hard tonight we should lose it again.
Ouch...........not the weather for that to be happening. Hard hats off to the line guys who make it happen again in this stuff.................
Yes we are Well Seasoned , I'm not sure how much but I should've plowed the driveway yesterday too. Back here in the pines it seemed like we had very little wind (big ole pines doing the blocking) but when I went down to the neighbors to plow with the tractor it was windy out near the road.
How much snow you reckon you got? Between yesterday's event plus what is falling now, we're at about 5". More to come....
I think 14 for a total, it was some wet snow so it could be more. About 10 miles north of us is reporting 10 inches so we usually get a lot more snow than they get.
Nice! It's weird, I'd say 50%of the snow didn't show on the radar. Like now for example. Nothing on radar, yet snowing petty good! We'll see about 8°F tonight with the wind chill. Stove choochin!
Just north of us by 4 miles reported 20 inches of snow, we usually get more so we'll see if they put out a snowfall report for our area.
thewoodlands, there is another system expected your way around tomorrow or maybe thanksgiving. You expecting more snow with it? Local weather saying maybe an inch or two here with a mix in the valleys.
Okay, I'm officially green with envy, even jealous! The snow that was in the forecast for this area is now rain. So that means I won't get to use my new to me snow blower! Here's the next 10 days for my neck of the woods. It's only somewhat accurate though. The high yesterday was supposed to be 54 but only made it to 47 and the low was supposed to be 29 but it dropped to 23 degrees.
For a while it appeared we'd get a bunch this morning but it didn't last long. Lookes like we'll be getting some rain. Right now is is a bit of sleet and rain.
thewoodlands a lot of snow, storm after storm hitting the pacific NW...... expected to move east and late in the week dump on the interior NE. By the time it hits, colder air may be back in place after this warmup. Quite a ways out, but coming none the less.
