Low in the mid 50's last night. Next weekend we get down to 35 as a low on Saturday. Wood stove weather is coming. Yeah.

Wondering why it that cold there when you say you're near Texas? Hard to believe it would be colder there than here..

Well based on that statement your weather info is rather useless.. Location has much to do with weather conditions..

So now near Texas is the Berkshire Hills! I used to get around too, but I'm a Mainer through and through. Boarders don't matter much here, but how thing are in different parts is good if you want to stay current.

Well, a man can dream, can't he?
On the wx topic; as nice as Texas is, their weather can be quite harsh; depending where you visit. I imagine the southern gulf coast to be a wonderful place to spend the winter, reasonably OK in summer, and downright dangerous in hurricane season.

eta: my low was 41F Sunday morning, but about a mile away, I saw very slight frosting on a north facing roof. It's still too early for frost here.

Someone on AmWx posted this, and I found it was pretty nice reading, (well, for wx geeks). And, everyone seems to like long range winter forecasts, so....
    Preliminary Winter 2015-2016 Forecast
Looks a lot like every other forecast floating around.
BTW, it's yet another guy using 2009-10 as an analog winter. That was our snowiest winter on record here in Baltimore.
