Aldi has milk for just over a $2 a gallon.

Ebates is great I use it when I think about it. You make money on stuff you were buying anyway. If I'm buying stuff at Walmart i use Ebates and get like 5% back. It WAS stuff I was buying anyway. Or click Ebates before an Amazon purchase and her another 2% back on stuff you bought anyway. Or use it for eBay...you get the picture. I is it when I buy magazine subscriptions for my wife at Christmas. They often have 42% cash back at magazine store.com I use it and get a deal there on the subscription and then get the cash back. Often getting a year of magazines for like $7.

I use a credit card all the time your right it's built into the price, that's why you have to do it cause no one hardly gives cash back these days. I don't use airlines cause I never fly anywhere that work does not pay for. That may change but I haven't flown anywhere in 15 years that a ticket was not paid for by work.

Some CCs you earn more cash back or points on certain things like gas/fuel , dinning , entertainment, groceries , travel , etc.
I've tried several but there are limitations on spending amounts or they limit cash back and they don't work for my situation . For the average Joe they would work.
NerdWallet | Credit Cards Marketplace is a good place to check out what might work for you.

Fat wallet I think it's called is another Ebates type site.

Raise.com is a site where you can buy discounted gift cards. Sometimes there deals but places like Walmart the discount is only like .5 to 1% Lowe's is often like 3% off. But there is all kinds of places on there. Buy your gift cards at a discount for a purchase you can often end up with several more percent off doing this.

We are on the same page.
I may have to check into E-Bates. If it is something I am going to purchase anyway let's go for it.
They have a Gal, on the commercial, that states she "Made" xxx$s from E-bates. OK she may well be telling the truth, but in my old fashion mind she more than likely got on line and purchased things she didn't need or would not have purchased. In that case she didn't "Make" chit.

Yep we are. I agree if your buying crap you don't need or stuff that you weren't going to buy as a want you are not saving money.

I don't go to Ebates to look who has big cash back discounts. I have a purchase I am going to make at advance Auto parts for example... hopefully I remember to check Ebates. I look to see if cash back is offered. I click advance Auto parts and make my purchase through the pop up advance window that opens up. I often save 5-7% on those purchases from advance. These like I said are things I was going to buy there already through price comparisons and determined that it was the best place to purchase. Often times if I remember I take into account the Ebates discount when I decide where to buy.

I play a lot of games with credit cards to take advantage of rewards and savings. For instance last year I put a new composite deck on my house, I found the best deal on deck boards at a local lumber yard, paid for it with a credit card that gives me 3% cash back. I then immediately applied that 3% to the credit card balance. I then transferred the remaining balance to another credit card that was offering 18 months 0% interest and no balance transfer fee. I then set up auto payments to ensure the balance would be paid off in 17 months, I’m generally the type that hates to carry a balance on a credit card but sometimes it makes sense and allows me to keep my money in the bank.

I also have a Lowe’s credit card which offers 5% off on everything, so I might as well save on stuff I will buy anyways

I also travel a lot for work so I am a member of a couple of hotel rewards programs, last year with points alone I stayed 10 nights for free at holiday inns (IHG) and Hampton inns (Hilton) and bought roughly $1300 worth of amazon gift cards with my remaining points. Then I used the amazon gift cards to do all of my Christmas shopping. Sometimes traveling for work has its advantages.

Hey Marshel, it's true (on a legit site), give it a try on things you NEED to buy. We moved to a new place about 6 years ago, needed a total gut, we could afford most of the total gut (walls, insulation, electrical, plumbing). Anyway new kitchen appliances, I used a points back credit card (that we redeemed for Cabelas gift cards for Christmas gifts), double dipped on Sears points/promos, then triple dipped with ebates cash back (it was called something different back then but ebates bought it). I still use ebates cash back when it makes sense. They send the $$ to my paypal acct and I transfer it to my checking. Our kitchen appliances and other were by no means free, but extra upon extra savings beyond the sale price took the sting out of spending the money for them :) Matter of fact, I got a couple % back from them or FatWallet on our pellet stove furnace

Thanks clemsonfor it was Fatwallet before ebates bought it out, thats what I could not remember where I saved several hundred while remodeling this fishing shack.

Idk, it's some mickey mouse to make it happen Marshel54 , and there are "secret shopper" scams for sure. Ease your mind when you see an ebates commercial:)

I was thinking there was still a "fat wallet" site a few years ago? Now Rakuten has bought Ebates. They say it will be the same just a different name? But as of now my Ebates app still says Ebates. I did get that email from Ebates last week. Maybe it had a date when it would happen I just didn't pay attention to?

I use Raise quite a bit. I can regularly get 20% off of AutoZone, and can often get (with sales) get 7+% off of Lowes. Walmart occasionally at 5%. At the beginning, I regularly got 10-20% off of Home Depot and Lowes, but it seems those days are gone.

We started out in a single wide, upgraded to a double wide in '96, bought a '95 model on clearance. Replaced the roof, built kitchen cabinets, paint ourselves. Helped friends do the things I couldn't do.
