We just replaced our tube type tv last year :picard:
biggest reason I replaced it was because the old 300# tv was on a table and I had to move it to get carpet installed. it went into dumpster along with the old carpet...Wife came in and asked where the tv was. i replied, what tv?

Shawn, I well remember way back in the mid-70's when we got fed up with tv and sold ours. One of the best things we ever did and we found that we spent much more time with our sons. Never have regretted that decision. We did get another tv after many, many years but it is rarely on. If this is a typical year, we'll watch the Super Bowl next week and the tv may not come on again all year. We like it that way.

I have been telling the wife to cancel the cable for years. It's the biggest waste of money there is. First, at least 1/3 of the time is commercials. I'M PAYING MONEY TO BE BOMBARDED WITH COMMERCIALS !!!
Seriously? I understand that radio is free. So they sell advertising to pay for expenses.
But TV...Advertisers pay the TV stations to run ads, then we pay the TV stations to see them...
    Does something sound wrong here!!!???!!!

I've mentioned it already a number of times, but it has been said that man never grows tired of looking at fire or water.
