This is what happens when you are cutting maple suckers off of stumps, and then cutting them shorter. I Honestly knew this was going to happen, just didn't know when! Little more to the right and I'd been singing suprano,lol this is my left theigh today. Yes I also had chaps on, plus my jeans.
Its no big deal, i just thought i'd post this to show if no one has ever had this happen, what can happen when you get into a limb, or sucker like i was cutting on. Then, so i wouldn't slide around on the suckers i cut them down to some shorter sizes, i figure the one that hit me was about 2'' in diameter and going about 200 mph, lol. Boy, it sure got my attention when it whacked me. I knew what had happened and just kept on cutting, why look when you know what the results were? lol. It stung for a little while, but, nothing a guy can't live with.
Glad you are okay. It couldve been a lot worse. Several years ago i walked ten minutes down the trail in our woods to cut up a huge beech limb felled by a snow storm. A sapling was bent over 180* and when i cut it, it sprang back right into my forehead just above my eyes. My reaction was like that of a hockey player getting high sticked in the face. My eyes welled up and im like oh thank god i didnt get cut, next thing blood pours down my face. Not having any first aid, towel, napkin etc. I had to hold my sleeve to my forehead and walk the ten minutes back to the house. Good gash and tender for s few weeks. Good lesson learned and it couldve been a lot worse.
