Last Friday I was blessed and was able to stop in to the factory. Had a great time chatting with Tom. He's got more things in the works and we wish him well.
I would like to check the place out too. Waiting for drought season to put in my AS. Got two very wet inches dumped on me yesterday while cutting. How big is the showroom backwoods? Their website really doesn't have a panoramic shot of it.
Showroom is actually quite small. Let me see if I have any pictures. Here are a few older pictures. Not much has changed though. Sorry but I never got a clear shot of the whole showroom. I think these pictures are from 8 years ago. I mostly took pictures along the walls. I really like the older stoves but unfortunately I guess I've not taken many pictures of them. There are many stoves in back and as people come in to look they can go back to see most any stove they want as many are always lined up ready to ship. People can also watch some stoves being built.
I think that gives the idea as to size. They have their current line up, a little heritage, and some accessories. We were there later on a Saturday. Went out in the warehouse all alone with our salesman and unboxed several different AS's of different color and design to get an idea of what we wanted.
That's the way to do it; go out into the factory. Who did you talk to? Mike, Ron, Penny, Donna or Lorin. They still have the old stoves there. The soapstone stoves are lined along the west wall still. An Ideal Steel is the centerpiece and there is also a couch and easy chair right in front of the stove.
I think it was Ron. His office was to the right by the bathrooms. Used to work for Vermont Castings back in the day.
Do you see him in this picture? Mike is directly behind Judy and Ron (has suspenders) just to the left of Judy.
You didn’t happen to see a Fireview with my name on it, did you Backwoods Savage? Penny told me they’re still waiting on that cast shipment. I need some chimney work anyway and they’re not coming until early August. I’m assuming the current tariff war is holding things up. Hope it’s temporary!
Wish I'd known about this before I went. I actually never got back in shipping as just about all my time was spent talking with Tom.
Thanks Dennis. Hopefully sometime later this month they’ll finally get their shipment and get to building again. I’m sure they’re shipping lots of steel stoves.
