Well I did not exactly name it myself! :) It is kind of funny because i will jump on my dozer and say, "Come on Wallenstein", like the 500 pound trailer has a choice being dragged by a 10,000 pound dozer.

I know you were being funny, but good ole Wallenstein is not exactly a toy. I own a farm and as such I am in the process of clearing forest into land for agriculture so I cut a fair amount of wood; about 10 cords per week. I have cleared 20 acres so far, am working on a 30 acre plot now, but next week will start bulldozing stumps on a 42 acre clearcut. Just letting you know that is all.

As a side note, I don't clear land with that little bulldozer; I use a bigger weapon for that; a John Deere 850C.

I'd keep Nell on my good side if you want to see your supper on the table and your pillow not on the couch--another productive weekend of wood hoarding when M.A.N. hoarding failed again--keep your eyes open out there--and I'll leave the light on... image.jpg

Yeah Katie has a thing for looking out across a great expanse of land and seeing a single tree. She likes that look. Maybe it is because where she is from. In Whitefield NH you can see for miles around and on top of this hill there are 4 trees that prominently stand out. Still I think tying yourself to a tree to save it is over the top, especially a White Pine. Jeeshhhhhhhhhhhh!

Sorry about missing out on another guy. You need to come to Maine, I'll hook you up. (Now if that don't scare you, nothing will).

As I read this thread, every so often, I think to my self well....... . Ah, but then the alarm bells start going of and I return to some sort of reality/sanity ?
Then I look around see the wedding band that was.... well whatever. Which reminds me of the nuclear holocaust, some 16 years ago and a line from E.A. Poe comes to mind. Never more. I am cured. Good luck. ( Still got all my teeth - except for the four wisdom ones they pulled out eons ago and the one in a jar around here somewhere. ) Tried the dating or whatever they call them sights way back - less than stellar. I 'll just crawl back under my rock and tree roots now.

if at first you don't succeed--try, try again---dating sites are just dating sites but you're sharp enough to realize the creativity and risk-taking it must have taken me to venture onto the FHC classifieds for a stab at maybe finding someone who has similar interests, etc. -watch it----wow I almost got profound there--what's the worst that can happen? ...I find out you have a gimpy leg or a disfigured ear?:jaw: PS upon further thought I think it only fitting in fact that I get my just rewards (or what I got coming to me) from a guy on this site--well that's a jaw-dropper too ain't it?

I am glad I never gave up.

To me relationships are like going to church. Its hardly perfect and things get very messy sometimes with conflicting opinions and personalities, but in the end its also what makes us grow and we get to be better people from it. My first two marriages, they shaped me, from having compassion for people who are hurting when my first wife left for a man she met on the internet, to a second wife that was well...not so social at all which included being social with me her own husband. Oh yes I can relate to a lot of people. But through my previous wives I grew, marched on and found Katie, but I am glad I found her when I did for she would have not liked who I used to be.

I always thought it was ironic that teachers in school tell their children they are nothing but cosmic garbage; two pieces of dust colliding in space to make them and wonder why they must spend all their time working on self-esteem issues. I don't have those issues, I know I was made by a wonderful father and creator who loves me. Now that is quite the difference!

But this is me. I KNOW I am called to be married, but for others they are called to be single and I understand that completely too. I try not to let marriage, 4 kids and a farm hold me back, but yet it inevitable does. For the single person it doesn't, and God can really use that! Never forget that.

There has only been two times in my life that I felt God really spoke to me. Some say they get visions and talk to God a lot and that sort of thing and maybe it is true for them, but for me it primarily through reading the bible that I get direction. But all growing up I used to play with my little toy tractors, pushing them all over the floor and always pretending my wife would bring me supper if I was working late, riding tractors together and being on ATV's and that sort of thing.

So then when I got older I got married to Tina, but after 9 years of marriage that ended. Then I married Patty, had a daughter with her, but after 6 years of marriage that ended. Then I found myself dating another woman, but she had 2 kids. Now it is one thing to mes up your own life, but to mess up the lives of two innocent girls is another, so before I met them and got them thinking a father-figure was entering their life, I wanted to be sure it was the path God wanted me to take. So I prayed if this woman was the right one. God simply said, "Who did you always say you were going to marry when you were a kid playing tractors."

I always said it was going to be Katie. Not Kate. Not Catherine, not Kathy...Katie. And Katie is just that, no nickname; K.A.T.I.E.

That is why you always see me spell out my wife's name on my posts. Its personal, its literal, its from God.

Katie is a very special name because through that name it is very clear who I am to spend the rest of my life with. Yes a few false starts, but it is never too late to start again. All is forgiven and that is not exclusive to me. ANYONE can live life abundantly.

good to go but not very fast--that chain mail always bogs me down--let me know when the ship sails Leif (as in Erikson--the great Viking explorer and chainmail fashion figure)

Shall we E. A. Poe? Either the memory of past bliss is the anguish of today or your agonies have their origin in the ecstasies which might have been.....put it behind you and move on--there's a lot of "great" just waiting for you....

Chain mail- not too good for swimming- nomex either for that matter. Great quote. Not to sharp today, can't think of one in reply. No matter your post/s covers all the bases. I do have an acquaintance. Occasionally we get together ( blue moon style) any way said she had some tickets to one of those talking/moving picture places and is looking for an accomplice to make use of them.

Next blue moon is Wednesday, January 31, 2018--seems that is the same schedule I'm on to get a date--so as the Lorax says: Which way does a tree fall? .... uh, down? ..... a tree falls the way it leans--be careful which way you lean...

not a blue moon but a full moon Friday night--women will be tying themselves to trees and otherwise unattached men will be eating popcorn at the movies (probably a chick flick no less)--let's all stay safe so we can live to fell another tree and hunt for the illusive man:p

The probabilities of me eating popcorn at a chick flic and hunting for a man/ woman ( whatever your lean is) on a Fri. night are Zero on all three counts. Blue Moon, Full Moon or the Ides of March not withstanding.

Chris my good friend, I am married and the last movie I saw in the theaters was Die Hard 3. Needless to say:

    1) It was not a chick-flick
    2) I was not hunting for a woman (I was wed to my first wife)
    3) I might have ate some pop corn but because (#1) indicates how long ago it was, I no longer remember

I can tell you two where NOT to find a potential mate:

    1) Plenty of Fish
    2) Craigs List

A few years back I was at work and a guy frequented Plenty Of Fish and said, "look at this girl, can you believe she looks that good at 50." I took a look and said, "Yeah, 15 years ago." He looked at me dumbfounded, as if it never occurred to him that the photo was at least 10 years old. Where I am from, that is called deception. Now my ugly mug; yep...sadly...it is recent. Take it or leave it, and just be glad you are not Katie and said you would stick it out to death. It is only going to get worse. DSCN4308.JPG

I'm still adamant about getting yourself out there( one way or another) as this thread illustrates--I'm not stuck on Friday night any ole night will do--as Ceasar himself cried: Veni, vidi, vici!

ahh yes, I came, I saw, I conquered---the scenario: the local small-time rib-fest held on the lake--I had 9 bucks in my pocket and a sandwich was 8 and a cold beer 3 and my elementary math kicked in and I went on the hunt for a victim--no not a pick pocket but a smiling willing man--found a subject hanging out with his cousin and they were more than happy to buy fries, a full rack (perhaps they were in hopes of seeing mine) and a couple beers for the mere price of conversation and a few laughs--the band was great, the night clear with that full moon and I left with 3 bones :jaw:--think leftovers--and although he wanted my phone number it was not to be--hey a girl's gotta eat:pete:
