I'd like to commend all the wives and girlfriends out there that have been reading this and laughing:rofl:  and I'd like to appeal to them to further my cause--so often as the case may be it's women pulling for each other that gets the job done--so if you know an eligible bachelor don't be afraid to speak up--review the requirements and let's get this show on the road!:p

some day i'll tell you about the civil engineer born in San Francisco, schooled as an orphan in Berlin, divorced after a 14 year marriage in Virginia and working freelance on the bridge over the river kwai in Malaysia who after a long wait for the final bridge section from china was unable to secure said piece from customs without the help of my BANK ACCOUNT--can you say SI-O-NA-RA? so other attempts are being made my Yooper friend but not any as fun as this and I have a sneaky suspicion none that will produce a genuine, hard workin' M-A-N of the caliber frequenting this very site--but thanks for the suggestion!

What comes to mind was to look around in different places.

Try your church, your library, your family themed attractions (parks, get togethers, volunteer groups, etc) those type of avenues.

If you find someone in a bar, chances are you will be looking for them in a bar later on....

I don't know, it's hard to tell if you're serious about meeting someone or just joking around with all the responses you have posted. It can be done with the results you are expecting.
If all you are looking for is a warm body, then you can get that in any watering hole any night. Sounds like you may be past that stage.

Just rambling now, but when I said try a different approach, I guess I meant to find the person with the qualities you seek, you may have to look where those persons with those qualities frequent?

There are lots of hard working men, responsible, loyal, etc. A lot of them here too, it just that none of them are here looking for anything more than FHC stuff.

Gee dad, thanks for the good advise--mom said the same thing but she knows the grocery store is full of fruits and nuts and the library creeped me out when that old man sat too close to me--she suggested I look down at the Bates Motel--you know --where you met her that night---no! dad! no! don't hit me again!!:hair:well...I'm off to listen to some Radiohead...

needless to say I will continue stumbling away--slowly learning that life is ok--bumping into trees--picking up and kissing the frogs--blindly wandering through bogs and swamps--speaking for the trees along the way--looking for the ultimate get-together to compare war wounds...

question--what's the longest distance through which anyone has successfully produced a viable relationship--otherwise another weekend with "hello walls, hello window and hello ceiling"--oh and I suppose i'll hear the dangers inherent of distant "friends"--well there's wood to be split and stacked so giddy up!:axe:

a wonderful weekend splitting and stacking--for those interested I took in an Italian festival (to go to the places where men might be) and came away with less money and more wisdom--let me reiterate I don't want you if you're married (no matter how bad your situation) so you don't have to circle the wagons over on that other thread--be good--play fair:p

0824160614.jpg and as an added bonus ran into some hornets that got under my shirt and stung the sheet out of a very tender area (warning: the previous photo has been rated PG by the independent photographers of America)

Sorry to hear that you got the wrong end of things. Just took out a nest of those lovely little beauties my self. Score card, Hornets: 0 , Me: Total destruction:thumbs: They were getting so bad that nothing was venturing into the backyard birds, squirrels, chipmunks, fox ,racoon, deer. Even the coyotes haven't been sneaking through. Nest had to of been there awhile as it a bit larger than a football. Several sessions of lead contamination from my air rifles opened up the nest enough to apply a permanent solution for this year. 410 would have been quicker but that alerts nosy neighbors and could lead to unwanted visitations from governmental departments. ( See, I do not have to always write like a a less than adequately schooled Netherlander. )
