I am in no way encouraging one to trespass and take wood. I know this is town property. There are no 'NO TRESPASSING" signs around plus i was thanked for cleaning it up by a neighbor. Ball fields right up the street. Parking lots and i saw a fisherman as there is a little river for it. Had i not been afflicted with locust mania :loco:  i wouldnt care.
My normal MO is to get permission prior to taking wood and/or cutting unless the wood is right on the curb. 75% of the time i get the okay when asking. I have gotten a lot more brazen in recent times.

Actually if i had a choice id choose Western red cedar. Love the smell of it and love working with it. building stuff.
Although i like the thought of locust.

Havent been back to this score in over five months. Spring came and it got overgrown plus the grassy area i park on got too tall. Dead locust...no rush. Recent storms took a couple tops down. Limited time today but wanted my BL fix so i stopped and bucked one top. On my way home anyhow as i drive by there on a regular basis. Had sectioned one dead tree and never moved it roadside. Flip flopped those out for next time. IMG_3276.JPG IMG_3277.JPG IMG_3279.JPG
Not much room on PU otherwise i mightve bucked more. IMG_3281.JPG IMG_3280.JPG IMG_3282.JPG
I looked around and another 6-7 trees down, all dead except one. Not big, but section and move to road. Maybe a tree per stop??

Been wanting to grab this for the last three months, Bucked all the sections i had moved to the edge of the woods and another top from the August storms. IMG_3731.JPG IMG_3732.JPG Maybe a face cord total. Still several blowovers in there. I'll use the same MO and nibble away...buck into sections and move to roadside or load directly.

Its five minutes from home and not a high priority to get. The sections have been sitting for three months and i drive by there very often. :emb: Trees arent that big, but most barkless and off the ground. Got overgrown in the warm weather so i didnt work it and no worries about someone else taking the wood...unless you happen to be in the area?
