You will understand what I am saying about the slopes around here and why the loggers use cable skidders rather than buncher skidder.

They make em that big. I'm used to the Mid-80's Ski Doo Safari's with the 377's. Top speed of about 50 MPH. LOL..

I did upgrade a couple years ago to a 1999 Grand Touring with a 583. My ice fishing, play in the yard sled.

No, they aren't boring for sure. Best innovation for them, IMO, was independent front suspension. Remember just how bad it was before then?

Oh, most certainly. I grew up in north central Wisconsin surrounded by flat farm fields and woods. I was always super impressed with the valley's when riding with my dad in the semi down to La Crosse on occasions going south on what I think was STH 27. Always surprised me where farmers had there fields situated up the sides of the hills.

Wow. That's some serious wood, and that background view is beautiful. I need to get up to that part of our great country

None of my saws are the Mtronic. I like the theory behind it, but want/need the saw to work when i want it to. I almost bought another new Stihl but only came with the Mtronic version. Glad i didnt now. OPE dealer i do most of my business with had the counter person tell me of the woes the pros go through with the Mtronic. Guess a lot of them dont like it.

Casual saw users don't understand how important it is to start first time, every single time when warm. Yanking on a saw in the 90+ cc class gets pretty old in a hurry. My old school huskies start before the cord is half way out.

    I like the mtronic. I Use a 201cm 261cm 462cm
If the 261 sits for 5 min after running it needs to be started on choke. The 462 is not finicky and starts easy. I’d say the 462 is a friggin awesome saw. The 201 gets hammered everyday and starts and runs like a champ.
I would/will buy a 661cm. My experience with the older Stihls is was good, but I am liking the lighter cm models just as well. The auto on switch is a great improvement. Can’t believe it took so long to come up with it.

They called this morning before I left to play golf to see if I was coming today but I am tired and the trailer is only 20% unloaded right now.

Is your 201 the top or rear handled version Chud ? Im looking for a rear handle and missed out on a good deal for a new RH one. Considering a 193 or 194 RH as well.

It’s a top handle. We also have a non mtronic 201 top handle that’s been sidelined since we got mtronic 201. They are both work saws not owned by me, but I use the 201 on everything from removals to stripping out fallen trees. It’s a powerful little saw. My buddy has a rear handle 201 and loves it. He bought it used.
