I thought about that but then youre making 2) 22.5° cuts (that need to be about perfect) with a portable bandsaw by hand vs one cut on the chop saw with the guide/clamp already set.

How do you cut your box tube on an angle?

Great build project and thread Tim

Looking good, and it's sure to be sturdy.

I looked all over the tires. They are 4 ply.

    There was no "weight rating"

Ran short on the 1 1/4" tube. So had to make a run to the metal shop. Tomorrow i think ima take all the posts back off and cut them down. I can't reach the bottom of the bed...24" is too high...
As it sits the trailer would hold 1/3 of a cord.

So...my plan was to build a trailer to pull behind the quad, through the woods, that was heavy duty... Or more accurately, extreme duty....

With a little help from my coworker, the trailer is way bigger and heavier duty than i wanted.:emb: this one would be better suited to pull behind a sxs.
I think i decided i might sell this trailer and build another...
    ...a scaled down version...:picard:

And I’m jealous! Wish I had some of both of your metal working skills. Lukem, when I win the lotto maybe they can both come and train both of us! I’ll pay their hourly wages! :D

No no no. I think you will be able to pull that just fine. What size/type wheeler do you have? Maybe... You just need a wheeler like this....,

If it were me I would keep the height and utilize a gate at the back. Reaching over and lifting rounds up and over the side does not sound fun to me. Maybe pinned on each side, swing it open to either side and able to remove it completely as well.

Polaris 550 xp. Weighs about 700#
I don't think the hitch is heavy enough to pull what the trailer is capable of...

I am surprised what mine will pull. Because of the four tires carrying the vast majority of the weight, my 550 pulls my trailer full of hardwood splits even with a heaping load.

Make a drop in bed filler? Keeps your capacity and reduces the depth when only hauling heavy rounds.
Or turn the thing into a dump trailer.
